There were 10 of us that dined here and when we first got there it took a very long time for anyone to take a drink order from us and there were three people working at the bar. Most of us ordered the Lobster which didn't seem like Lobster. We asked our server if this was Lobster bring out a... More

We came for the new years supper and ordered a variety of dishes. The potatoes, rice and bread were cold and the potatoes uncooked, after sending it back it was still not done properly. The langosta (it actually was tiny rock lobsters) was expensive and not great. We had a slow service to begin and then it picked up. We... More

We donned our beach garb and grabbed a short taxi over to Playa la Ropa in search of a nice beach and delicious food. We visited on a Saturday and La Gaviota was packed which we took as a good sign. We sat on the terrace and at high tide the waves come all the way up, so when it... More

All of the above very good. Also excellent margaritas and pleasant tropical atmosphere. The view if the bay is absolutely stunning. Wonderful place to hang for an afternoon....

The seafood here is the best. Tuna, mahi-mahi, shrimp, and the staff are and have always been tops. Order their Margarita with Herradurra especial!

Then this is the place for you! Absolutely authentic menu that includes everything you could ask for. Another fine family owned and operated open-air restaurant sitting right on the beach in Zihuatanejo. Watch the beautiful surf and tide roll in, fishermen, swimmers, etc., all while enjoying the culture that defines Mexico. Friendly service, but at the same time you're not... More

Waiter couldnt come up with 25 pesos of change. Huh? This was the middle of the afternoon. Welcome to playa la ropa! Why go to this restaurant if the waiters enjoy taking advantage of foreigners?

Great food and a beautiful oceanview, I really enjoy eating at La Gaviota, that's why I keep going back every year. You can't go to Zihuatanejo and not visit this restaurant, I highly recommend it.

Do not eat here. The food is WAY too expensive, and it really is not that good at all. I think the local hotels and rentals have a deal with Gaviota that they will recommend this place to their guest but do not fall for that trick. Really its not worth wasting a meal on when there are so many... More
