The meals I have had here several times compare to the best food I get in Italy. The staff are friendly however not always the best organized but it is almost humorous and fun to be there. Try and I bet you will come back like we have several times .Really enjoy Tony Ortensia and Jiovanni.

Did not even realize this was here until we walked by and were greeted by Ortencia. She had a good selection of wines available and we decided to give it a try. The pizza was fantastic and lasagna was amazing. Prices were very reasonable and all staff were smiling and engaging. Highly recommended.

We were having difficulties finding a place to eat during a busy Puerto Vallarta evening. Stumbling upon this cute little restaurant, we were struck by the friendly atmosphere and delicious smells. We received our food quickly. It was very tasty and authentic given my brief experiences in Italy. We were treated with a great deal of respect. The owner was... More

We have to go here at least once every trip. The food is excellent, prices are very reasonable. Brick oven pizza is wonderful. The hot bread served with meals always calls for more. The staff has always been accommodating, although sometimes a slight language barrier. That's part of going to another country. We have always had a good time working... More

Full disclosure: At home we have easy access to really outstanding Italian restaurants, so our expectations may have been too high for Funiculi. We picked it based on comments from some other travelers staying in the condo complex we were in, and on its location close to a theater where we had tickets for an 8 PM performance that night.... Good location, easy to walt to whole in the Romantic Zone - The food was good but a little too spendy for Italian food

This tiny hole in the wall serves excellent Italian cuisine and is staffed entirely by Mexicans mostly ladies. The food is great, as is the wine & it is very reasonably priced. You are advised to get there early if you don't have a reservation. This is the 2nd year that we have eaten there which is something of s... More

We went there with another couple who had dined there a year ago. We had trouble finding it and as I walked in the door I wondered if it was just a pizza counter. Once inside there was a delightful courtyard with a tree growing through the top. The pizza and pasta menus were extensive. We had fettuccine Alfredo with... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by another restaurant owner that I have already reviewed - "Bluebirds" - just down the street. This was an absolutely magnificent meal shared by my wife and myself. We had linguini alfredo with chicken. The meal comes with a very large salad which was more than enough for the two of us to share.... More

We had the caprese salad and a wood fire oven pizza, both very good and very reasonably priced, they have a good selection of wines and a few available by the glass. Overall an excellent choice.

Description
I googled and found it in an article that someone fron the Calgary Herald wrote about Puerto Vallarta. This is a great place to eat Italian food. It is owned by Roman Antonio Barbato and his Mexican wife. It is a small family operated restaurant that serves excellent quite reasonable food.
