The prices have increased substantially. There is equally good quality ice cream 1/2 block away across from the Angela Peraulta Theatro and the portions are generous.

Ice cream that is sooo yummy! They will give you sample spoons so you can try flavors before ordering. We had scoops of blueberry and vanilla bean and they were both really, really good. The only thing that makes the ice cream better is to get a shot of espresso poured over top - sooooo good! They do malts and... More

This is what I have often stressed is quite unfair in how Tripadvisor conducts its ratings...This is just a simple ice cream/gelato dessert joint which serves a short list of items but because the questionaire asks the same questions as you would answer fora fine dining place or a stand on the streets, we the consumer can make or break... Kitty corner from the Angela Peralta Theater and the Plazuela Machado, is our favorite ice cream shop or should I say, gelateria. What we really enjoy are the flavorful and imaginative gelatos that they serve up. Last night I had a scoop each of Mexican Chocolate and Mixed Berry. My wife had a scoop each of Coconut and Key Lime.... More

Nice place to rest, have coffee or ice cream and use wifi! The convenience and ambience surprised our group of 6. Children loved the ice cream and we enjoyed the cappuccino.

What sets Helarte Sano apart from other gelato we've tried is the inventive flavours & combinations: cranberry & nutmeg, goat cheese & fresh raspberry cheesecake -- and those are just 2 of what we tried! The gelato is made onsite and the sit-down cafe near the theatre is cozy & comfortable, with beautiful Swedish jazz playing. Check out the blown... More

This review is for May 2014. Artisanal ice cream and popsicles made naturally and you can taste the difference. Everything we've tried has been yummy. We crave the pistachio ice cream and jamaica popsicles for the rest of the year after we leave Mazatlan. This time we tried pecan ice cream and it was fantastic. What was pure heaven though... More

We stopped at their cafe in the Centro after a day at Stone Island. The ice cream choices were original and scrumptious, and they change their selection often. We tried strawberry with manchego, lime with lavender, and traditional chocolate. All were fabulous. Next time, I'd like come in later in the evening after dining on the Plaza for an affogato!

HelarteSano has added an espresso machine this year, and are making great coffee. Of course, having all that great ice cream on hand, an affogato is a natural! Highly recommend that you give the ice cream and the coffee a try!

Helarte sano now has two locations in Centro - the walkup location, and, just a few steps away, a new sit-down cafe that's open in the afternoon/evenings. Excellent, high-quality ice cream, made with love and care. Give it a try!
