We have been returning to Mexico, Manzanillo area for 14 years. We always went to El Fogon and enjoyed the food and ambiance, however this year we have seen a drastic deterioration of the facility. Plates were chipped and broken, tables and furniture in disrepair and food left much to be desired with tasteless sides. Maybe next year ....we hope.

I didnt arrive at the Fogon with high hopes, and although I wouldnt say its 100% authentic, its very good and well served. The restaurant has been done up in a charming mountain cabin style and the meats are all decent.

El Fogon isn't on the beach but the food is so authentic and so tasty that taking a night off sitting beside the beach is very easy. There are so many wonderful dishes available and the setting and atmosphere add so much to the dining experience. Several of my friends who had never walked across De La Madrid Blvd to... More

The waiter recommended the prime rib, so I ordered it. Tough as shoe leather and no flavor. My friend ordered the carne asada which is a flavorful thin beef, but this one had no flavor. They also kept their red wine in the refrigerator which had changed the taste. I would not recommend this place to a friend.

I love Mexico, when we arrived we were greeted with so much friendliness, big smiles, and yes English. Also, as soon as you are seated out comes the home made taco chips with a variety of dips and sauces that were delish and all for free. Again, I love Mexico. The food was so good, served quickly and efficiently! Love... More

On this trip we've been there twice, both times excellent. Our kids came to visit and wanted them to enjoy this place. The waiters where great, they actually showed us some food as it was brought out. My son actually order the steak, and said it was the best he's had at a restaurant. My daughters loved the fajitas.

We were busy all day sightseeing and went to dinner late. We went here as it is close to the hotel. After arrival, I realized that I had been here 12 years before during my earlier mission trip. The restaurant is the same as I remember it. Great food and service. I had chicken Fajita and my wife had a... More

Watch out for the margaritas! Mexican plate is great. Good service, excellent food. Sadly, never went back this visit.
