I like many dishes of their menu, I eat here often since I enjoy it, the service is really nice but honestly the breakfast menu it is a little overpriced for the city and compared to other restaurants in another countries.I have visited with foreign friends(Asia, Europe,US,Oceania) to eat here and even if the visit is on me, they mention... My friend and I had the pleasure of stopping for a late lunch at El Rey Sol. The restaurant is beautiful inside. Old style decor, with chandeliers, linens and candles. The service was impeccable. Serviettes laid gently on our laps. Wine glasses never empty and dishes and cutlery replaced with each course. Friendly servers with the desire to please. Then... More

A very classy restaurant, the El Rey Sol serves French-Mexican cuisine. The decor is old-fashioned as were the waiters, who were helpful and welcoming. We opted for their zarzuela (mixed seafood soup) and fortunately, Carlos our waiter suggested we shared one between us. What was presented in a tureen could have served 3 people! Our mains were calamari - one... More

I've been here twice, once many years ago for a nice breakfast & recently for a fantastic dinner. We were tended to quickly and sat outside for our meal. We started with Carpaccio & queso fondido with chorizo. We had bread to put the beef on & warm (Fresh ) flour tortillas for the cheese & chorizo. Then we all... More

A very relaxing place with a good mix of French and Mexican food, well presented. Pastries are delicious and beautiful; Mexican coffee, though not cheap, is a five minute spectacular presentation that produces a wonderful drink. The staff is knowledgeable, flexible and responsive.

Real Caesar salad made table side. Waiter has a Crumb comb. If you know what that is you'll like this place. Like the title of the review says, just like a fine French restaurant used to be in the 70's.

Food and their famous French pastries/desserts are pretty good, but in my opinion it's a bit overrated; seems to me like this restaurant relies on nostalgia, and it's history (there's an old-traditional ambiance to it). If you're looking for that gastronomic boom the city is experiencing, this is not it. Don't get me wrong, if you're going to Ensenada you'll... More

After hearing rave reviews of this restaurant, we had a large lunch party in a reserved room. Confused staff, mixed up orders, cold food and incorrect billing on check out. Hoping for better but sadly dissapointed. Will not return
