We sought out the Jolly Sailor on our canal barge charter from Bath, because a friend had once lived there. After all the over converted pubs along the canal and river nearby, this was a refreshingly traditional experience. Right on a lock at Saltford it has an idyllic setting, with lock gates and weir as a backdrop. The menu and... More

This is one of our favourite pubs as it is in such a beautiful location. We come here occasionally, usually for a drink, if we are in the vicinity and it's warm enough to sit outside by the river. On our visit earlier this week we had a meal here, inside the pub. The staff are friendly, the food was... More

My first visit to this gorgeous place, the views were magnificent. We were met by extremely friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. We had starters and I have to say the chicken coujons were a delight, this was followed by the special from the board of lamb madras. Absolutely scrumptious. Nice work guys and I will be definitely... More

Haven't been here for a while, think it may have changed hands since our last visit. Good food, friendly staff, efficient service, lovely setting by the river. If it is not warm enough to sit outside you get a nice view of the river and we if from the conservatory. Lovely cappuchinos!

Lovely pub in Saltford. Greeted by very friendly bar staff upon arrival. Lovely corner table in the bar area. Good choice on the menu; either typical bar food or curry. All the family went for the curry option and we weren't disappointed. Nice presentation with rice and nan bread. Staff very attentive and service quick. It also so happened to... More

Went a couple of weeks back for lunch when it was really warm. OK service at the bar but what made it was the service we had from a young blonde haired English girl with the food. She was just so friendly and gave great advice about what to drink and have for desert. Almost like she was a long... More

We visited on Sunday evening for Mum's 80th birthday. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We were impressed with the menu - three choices of Sunday roast, plus a wide variety of other meals and all fairly priced. The food all arrived at the same time, hot and well presented. We weren't rushed... More

Took family to the jolly sailor. Staff are really friendly, food is straight forward and easy especially for the kids 5 and 7. Roast dinners ( no fancy sauces or weird veg!). Other foods on menu, I had spinach and mushroom soup to start, very good as was all the starters. The view from the dining area is fantastic. A... More

We went for our first bike ride of the year today & as is usual we ended up in The Jolly Sailor. I chose the Fish & chips but really wish I hadn't. It was almost all batter & a miniscule piece of quite dry fish, chips were nice & my boyfriend had the burger which he enjoyed. I did... More

Thank you very much Jayne for your feedback. We have had few issues with the size of the Cod that was delivered recently by our suppliers. We have sorted out that issue now. I have also asked my chefs to make sure the Cod is not heavily battered and also to use a proper sized fish moving forwards. It's important... More

Description
The Jolly Sailor pub is located on Kelston Lock, with views of the Mendip hills just 300 yards from the cycle track connecting Bath to Bristol. Complimenting our 17th century building the pub has two open fires in the bar area and offers classical pub meals with an extensive 'Specials Board'. We offer a range of Real Ale's, international lagers, local ciders and hand picked wines. We run festivals and BBQ days in the summer months for all ages to enjoy. Our Senior Citizens menu runs weekday lunchtimes and we serve food all day, every day.
