Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Sunday roast was excellent. Very tasty lamb that fell apart. Everything on my plate was cooked to perfection. The food was top quality and the service was attentive and friendly for all our family group. We will be back :)

Fantastic lunch. I had roast turkey and ham on a bed of mash, with roast potatoes and vegetables. Superb! Gorgeous old pub highly recommended!

Fantastic spot just by the lake with plenty of parking available. Plenty of excellent food choices available, we had the fish chowder which was incredible if not the best I've ever had. Lot's of other non seafood choices also available and all food was very...reasonably priced. The bar is also well stocked with some good wine choices too and what seals this place is the fantastic service provided by a wonderful team of people all so friendly and helpful.More

Bar was warm, cosy, stove on, quiet for lunch but suited me. In for a drink but soon as Muireann said bacon & cabbage was on, I was sold. I don't know the staff or proprietor but easy to engage with & very easy going....I liked Muireann straight off for her ease of company & conversation. I had a few pints of Guinness, had the bacon/cabbage, beautifully presented but counts for nothing without taste. Really delicious! I also liked that it was as it stated bacon & cabbage, no carrots, broccoli as that should never be bacon & cabbage. 2 slices of bacon, of course I'll want more, but tiny bit of fat that makes it, delicious, generous mash & cabbage....requested mustard & parsley sauce on side....all catered for & delicious...€15 well spent. I'm super critical of such dishes as they have 3 main ingredients...don't get them wrong & larkins certainly didn't...totally yum & ill be back..plus loved the easy going atmosphere as I was on my own.More

Good job we made a reservation as busy place right by Lough with parking too. Great menu excellent staff who are enjoying working there. We stuffed ourselves with home made seafood pie & fresh cod with massive prawns The meringue with fresh fruits was very...good too. Reasonable prices but to get a good lough view you need to prebook.More

Came here for lunch yesterday with my wife and a friend, after a most enjoyable previous visit. My wife and I both ordered the chicken burger again as it was so good last time, however this time the burger itself albeit tasty enough was less...than a third of the size it was before, with a few shreds of miserably limp and unidentifiable ’greens’ on a crappy soggy bun out of a packet whereas before it was served on a far superior and delicious bread. Additionally, It was supposed to come with a salad that was spectacular last time but totally absent yesterday, but all for the same price as last time. Staff were pleasant but clearly poorly trained in hospitality. As anywhere now it was impossible to enjoy a conversation due to the obligatory small children constantly galloping around the room yelling. We had hoped that this would be a place we could rely on looking forward to returning to again and again but no, as hit and miss is at this price point is simply not acceptable, so our search must continue for somewhere that can get it right. It’s not really that hard. What a shame as it’s a nice pub in a pleasant location.More

Although I live about an hour away I try to get a Sunday lunch at Larkins a few times a year. The setting is fabulous on Lough Derg and the food is always good so it is usually worth the drive. I was a bit...disappointed when I saw the new mains menu. There was roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, roast stuffed turkey and ham, chicken burger, roast lamb with sage and onion stuffing , fish and chips and finally pan fried hake. The fish is always god here but I had in my mind one of my previous super diners here which was a slow cooked lamb shank. Oh well, wasn’t on. So we plumped for the standard roast beef and roast lamb. Were we surprised when the dishes were served. This wasn’t your standard roast beef and Lamb. They were both succulent and delicious. Larkins will stay on our regular list of place to have a super Sunday lunchMore

Fantastic experience in this lovely restaurant. The fish pie was amazing with such a generous amount of fish . Perfectly seasoned with a creamy mashed potato topping. Really good value too. It was served with broccoli and carrot on the side. Compliments to the excellent...chef. My husband enjoyed the steak burger. Also excellent. Waitress and manager so interested in making sure that your experience in Larkins was a good one. Thank you for an amazingly tasty meal. Looking forward to returning soon hopefully.More
