Transkaroo has made its name on its whole slow braised lambs neck. And it a dish I yearn for at least once a year. Be warned be hungry when you take it on. Slitely dissapointed with the pork belley though. It has a dramatic helicopterblade of crackling but I found the pork undernearh dry and overcooked if you are very... More

Referred by friends and had a superb dinner. Sat outside and enjoyed the food and setting. Service was also very good even though they were full. Must go there again and try the other dishes that sounded so good. Difficult to settle on a dish as they all sound so amazing.

It's very rich fare though, not a place you could visit too often, for your liver's sake, but so worth it when you do go. My picks are the Lamb Neck and Pork... More

We visited the restaurant twice in one week to taste more of the items on the amazing menu. The menu has a traditional South African flavor, however its not "boere kos" but rather a very modern version of South African food and flavors. And flavors are just out of this world, presentation up there with the best if the best... More

A gem of a restaurant between George and Mossel Bay. Gourmet menu and wide variety of quality wines. The pork belly must be the best I ever had ! Great starters that combined may serve as a main dish. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Limited tables and reservations necessary. Ample parking in a save environment. Spoil yourself with... Maurice and his team really impressed our Karoo farmer guests who are very particular about their karoo cooking. Very creative menu and our group of 12 all left very impressed. If you like lamb dont miss the karoo lamb neck.

We have visited this restaurant twice in the last few weeks. The first time was just my husband and i. We had a booking and once seated, waited for 30minutes before asking for service from the gentleman at the door who seated us. We were then served by 4 different waiters/ managers who were all very confused about what was... More
