Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ciao was a family favorite when we lived in St. Kitts. I was looking forward to their fabulous Lobster Termador during my visit. I am sorry it has closed. Best wishes to the former owner. We will always remember you.

This restaurant had great food, but little ambiance. The owners were very attentive and came by to check on everything.

If you are at the Marriott this is a short walk. I see it is rated in 3 different listings on Trip Advisor. This is family owned by an Italian couple and we really enjoyed it. It was very busy while we were there. There...is an inside room with air conditioning and an outside area which is where we ate. It was not too warm for us but could be for some people. I had the spaghetti and my husband had the lasagna. They were both very good - he said the lasagna is probably the best he has ever had. It was super meaty and they brought sauce on the side if you want a more tomato-y version. They started us with bruschetta and we had bread with our meal also. Very enjoyable and would definitely eat here again. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g674073-d2182272-r723357785-Ciao_Ristorante_Italiano-Frigate_Bay_St_Kitts_St_Kitts_and_Nevis.html#More

Pepperoni Pizza was so good, it was a “Do Over”for dinner. Light crust, perfect sauce, and cheese had yummy string pull. Plenty of adult Italian specialities, we had lobster thermador their restaurant week feature, delicious! Easy walk from Marriott, great service and chef is authentic.

Well, you really don't go to St. Kitts for fine Italian dining. Local cuisine is really the best. But then again, I do like Pizza Boys. Sort of slow service, but most place in SK are. You just have to get over it. Have a...beer. Fairly unspectacular Italian at a little more than average cost. Probably won't be back soon.More

Enjoyed meal here. Sat in the front near bar, breeze coming through open windows. Have been before and sat in the back - bitten by mosquitos that time. Salad was fresh. Pasta was good & perfectly cooked. Tiramisu was different! They all differ slightly but...this was not one of my favourite efforts. Would go back. Prices not as expensive as some places.More

Our visit to Ciao felt like we were going to our Italian relatives home for dinner. The food was authentic and delicious. We sat in the back room next to a table of locals who frequent Ciao. We knew when we sat down that we...were in for a treat from the complimentary appetizer, delicious lasagna, veal piccata, to the signature lobster ravioli. A very enjoyable evening! Even made their Facebook page! An easy walk from the Marriott.More

Flew into St Kitts today and wanted something walking distance from the Marriott with a menu that everyone in our party could find something to eat. This was the place. Our food ranged from grilled vegetables to pizza to beef carpaccio and basic spaghetti and...ravioli. All was very good. Ravioli was homemade and at the end the owners paid a nice visit to our table to learn about us and tell us about themselves. Very pleasant experience.More

We went to this place twice in our week on St. Kitts. Very close to the Marriott, an easy walk. The owner/hostess is colorful. If it's not busy, she will talk your ear off. The complementary bruschetta is a nice touch. Salsds were not great....The entrees we had the first time (gnocchi and fettuccini with vegetable sauce) were bland. But the linguine with white claim sauce I had on the second visit was one of the best I have ever had. Highly recommended dish. So our take was that it's inconsistent but worth a visit.More

Having been in Italy last year, I was hoping for something that compared to that experience with food. Nothing was bad I just wanted something more. I had the gnocchi and it was very good but the sauce was not what I thought the bolognese...sauce should be, more robust. My wife had the pizza and it was flavorful but would have liked it done more. Overall, it is a nice place but I'm a little more selective on authentic Italian food. I would suggest dining here but it's just not for me. One aside, most of the food we've had on St. Kitts has been good but not over the top good compared to other Caribbean islands.More

My family and I were visiting family in the island and heard about the Italian restaurant near the Marriott. We went and had the best food and best time that we had had in a long while. The owners really WANT you to enjoy their...cooking and would feel bad if someone did not enjoy the food. And thrown in the lemon chello....need i say more. Go. Enjoy. And let them know the Diamond Benjamin's referred you!!!More

Four of us ate dinner at Ciao tonight and we all agreed that this was some of the best Italian food we have ever had! The owner and his wife are Italian, and the food is delicious and authentic. The owner’s wife went out of...her way to make sure our meals were great. She even gave me some fresh aloe Vera to put on my sunburn...wow....I have never had a complete stranger make such a thoughtful gesture! We had: fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, baked pasta with lobster in it, and chicken Parmesan. All of these items were over-the-top outstanding! Highly recommend! We will definitely be back the next time we are in St Kitts.More

For some reason, Ciao's has three different Yelp listings. The correct one has the photo of a half eaten yummy calzone in the first pic. Ignore this listing, however, because the place is so darn delizioso, I'm posting this review in all three because this...place is just too darn good to suffer from folks who don't care enough to post correctly! A little effort, and consideration, can change people's lives, so always "remember to do ordinary things, with extraordinary love." - Mother Teresa. If you love to eat your way through Italy, then you'll love this place! And, if all you know is American'ized Italian food, then this is the place to be begin your education!! Excellent...fresh...delicious food!! Great Service and lovely owners! Simply a must if in St. Kitts!More
