Lolos (beach shack restaurants) are the way to go. Food is good and there's a ton of it. You definitely don't go away hungry after you've finished your meal. Prices are good too. We stopped here for lunch as part of an island tour/snorkel trip....We both chose ribs They came with rice & beans, salad, cole slaw, and potato salad. Everything was very tasty. The ribs weren't as tender as what we get at Texas Roadhouse back in the states but they were still very good.More

Take your business elsewhere

After a day at the beach, I decided to stop by this restaurant for a late lunch. I sat at the last available table overlooking the ocean and ordered appetizers/side dishes and a drink to start. About 20 min later a group of people arrive...and split themselves between two tables away from the ocean. An older man, perhaps one of the owners, approaches my table and begins grabbing my food and drink, telling me that "they" (the group) need my table. (Before you ask, yes they were.) He then turns to them and tells them that they can have my table. They are confused and clearly felt awkward as they watch him literally move my food to another table while I'm eating. I was initially shocked to experience such blatantly rude and preferential treatment, yet also not surprised given this side of the island's reputation. I paid for my apps and drink then took my business to the restaurant next door, where the food was fresh (not reheated) and customer service was superb.More

Only Lollo by the edge of the sea

One of our favourites through the years, the only Lilli by the edge of the sea. The usual Lollo barbecued fare but with Caribbean breeze. The ribs are great, the snapper can be special. Never a bad meal. And then for somewhere between $35 to...$45 for two of you , you can't get very much wrongMore

Great find on a pleasant warm afternoon

We found rib shack as we drive around the island during our stop in Philipsburg off of the Regal Princess Cruise ship. The restaurant is right on the beach, overlooking the ocean. The food was delicious! We dined on freshly cooked fish, fried plantains and...shrimp skewers. What a relaxing way to dine! In speaking with our waitress we learned that the beach side of the restaurant was destroyed in the hurricane a few years back and was recently rebuilt. The entire island is rebuilding as needed after suffering such a terrible storm. I wish them all the best in the months and years to come!More

Casual dining

Great BBQ food, friendly staff. Some fabulous sauces on the food. Very busy, but quick service, with a friendly waitress who explained anything we didn't quite understand.

Ribs, Cold beer and potato salad with hot Johnny cakes

We had ribs at our favorite rib shack and were not disappointed with the quantity and quality of our meal. No one cooks ribs like the rib shack with their special garlic sauce. Johnny cakes were steaming hot and delicious. Beer was cold and potato...salad homemade. Great food.More

Excellent grilled red snapper

The sides that came with this fresh fish dish were amazing! Spaghetti, mac n cheese, rice n peas, potato salad, and green salad. Very filling.

ribs shack does a good job rack for $5 . good flavor, on the water, local eats . they have a good variety on the board to choose from and resonable.

Careless service and served in plastic disposable plates

It was Carnival so many people were around. Our orders were taken and delivered about 30 minutes later. We did not get exactly what we ordered...no cooked vegetables and no French fries! All this in plastic plates and plastic cutlery. The Rum Punch was as...watery as ever, hardly any taste of rum. The smoke from the grill was irritating. Credit cards are not acceptedMore

Watch your bill total

A very friendly woman took our drink orders and a not very friendly woman took our food orders. Rib platters were average for the area and had to ask for the plantains that were left off. Our johnny cakes were cold and like rubber so...we sent them back to be heated but they never returned. We were ok with all of that until the bill came and the prices did not match the menu....we had to review the bill (persistently) to point out the differences. In the end it was fine but it shouldn't have happened.More
