We came from the nice reviews which came to find were absolutly WRONG. Lets start with portion size.. figure table spoon size at best. Service...while cordial... at beginning was NOT the pleasant island personality. They didnt have several menu items.. I asked for fried fish.....not available that day. The waitress pushed for me to take a different boiled fish instead...but I opted for chicken in its place. After waiting 50 minutes my food arrived cold. Worst of all ...it was the boiled fish.. not the chicken. Since we had an appointment to get to... i just settled on the appetizer I had as being enough. The waitress scooped up my plate and shoveled it into the trash... a few minutes later...she arrives with our check which included the boiled fish that I didnt order or eat. The waitress said her manager said since they made it that I was expected to pay for it! Needless to say I didnt... and was asked to speak in the back with the manager. Usually im very unconfrontational but not this time.I subtracted that item and SHOULD have not tipped... but I still left 20% for the sub par waitress. On top of all else CASH ONLY NO CREDIT CARDS. For the record, we ate at the neighboring spot last night...they were prompt, friendly and a much better choice.More

Food was over cooked (ribs and the shrimp both) -- fried were underdone. Service wasn't much better, and no one spoke English (that's not a negative -- just FYI in case it matters to you) that we dealt with. Hand gestures and our limited French...got us through, but not without a struggle. For good food it would have been worth it, but with the food we received it wasn't. Their red beans and rice was the best thing we had at this place. Would go to Talk of the Town over this place every time. Just my opinion.More

After spending day at the beach looked forward to the great smell of food. Chose Scooby’s for its baby back ribs. Plate comes with salad, rice, sweet plantain, noodles and a good portion of ribs. Ordered strawberry colada which was very refreshing. No view to...beach since it’s located between two lolos. Food wait was not long by island standards. Staff is friendly and helpful. Had a small amount of barbecue sauce on ribs which was just perfect. So many lolos so little time...More

We only came in here for a couple of beers, we could smell the bbq etc on the beach so we’re feeling a little peckish I suppose! We had a portion of ribs, the back crab and Johnny cakes which we all really yummy. Johnny...cakes were freshly cooked, the ribs were tasty n meaty and the back crab was interesting! Hadn’t eaten it before so wanted to try something a bit different. Service was friendly and considering it’s right on the beach prices were very affordable. I would eat here again if we came back to grand case....for the price of 2 cocktails further along we had a meal and 4 beers!More

Our driver dropped us outside and we went straight in for beers. Strangely enough for the French side of the island, I got a look of incomprehension in response to my order in French (I'm a translator). It turned out that English worked better there!...Scooby's has a good range of lovely St Martin craft beers which I recommend trying rather than the mass-produced ones. We then went for a walk to see what else was available before deciding definitely where to eat. We were surprised how many places would only be open in the evening. That seemed odd for a beach road. It was also sad to see how many buildings are still in ruins. Orient Village over on the east side is just about fully functioning now but Grand Case is not. But what an atmosphere that little place has! Far better to be around the real locals and support them than staying in a far richer expat/tourist ghetto. A few drinks later, we were back at Scooby's for lunch. Don't expect posh seating etc - you'll be at a table covered in a plastic cloth. But you'll be fed and watered very well. The ribs were very nice -- not smothered in sweet sauce as is often the case, just very nicely seasoned and cooked meat. And the chicken curry was also very tasty. Both were enormous and certainly not dear either. Another Lolo was specialising in ice-cream so we tried that too -- yummy! Grand Case was our favourite place on the island, that's for sure.More

My husband and I stopped at Scooby's for a late lunch after arriving in St. Martin that afternoon. I was hangry (hungry & angry) when I arrived. The service, food, and cocktails set me straight. We had the coconut shrimp, chicken wings, and shrimp and...avocado salads. I enjoyed a margarita on the rocks (no salt). Scooby's helped us to kick off our winter getaway nicely. I highly recommend it!More

We drove to this seafront Lolo at Grand Case for Sunday lunch. Food was average - took a very long time to come - just over 30 minutes. There were only two waitresses and looked like only one male cook. Waitress Gloria was friendly and...pleasant. The coconut prawn was tasty - two of us had ordered it. Another two in our group ordered chicken and it was overdone and dry. One of us ordered ribs and it was nothing special according to him. So Scooby didn’t quite do it for us.More

We had lunch here on Monday afternoon. We were headed to the LOLOs for lunch and were going to eat at Talk of the Town or the other one on the street. All the seats were filled so we ended up at Scooby's. We had...ribs, chicken, rice, plantains, the macaroni( which we thought would be macaroni salad and ended up being spaghetti). Our boys, hungry 24, 23, 19 and 13 declared the ribs more tasty than that of other LOLOs. The shrimp was not grilled but in a light butter and garlic sauce. Both girls who ordered it declared them delicious too. I guess you can't go wrong here!More

We had great food here! The Grouper is amazing! Great music also! We went out back to see the fish in the water and that was a nice experience. Our server was a very nice lady! Smiling all the time.
