We’ve been coming to Sol e Luna for many years under several different owners. We were looking forward to our visit last night but left with a very indifferent attitude after last night’s experience. The food and service was just ok but be prepared to...open your wallet. Very expensive for what you get.More

We are local residents and frequents this restaurant. This place has always been in the list of our favorite restaurant in St Martin but our last dinner will probably change this perception. I don’t mind paying an expensive meal as long as it worth it....I can tell Sol e Luna has recent changes and they will need to work very hard to match the original restaurant. The food is tasteless , for Main Courses averaging $50 per order I expect more . The service is very cold as well.More

Beautiful place with great service. Unfortunately the food does not fit neither the place level nor the pricing. We had daily specials - spaghetti vongole and lobster risotto and it was not tasty at all. Vongole were tired and sticky and risotto was flat and...without taste. We think the chef is burned out, the food was without the heart. Change the chef!More

My wife found this by reading the reviews and decided that we must give it a try. Boy am I glad we did. When you pull up out front the lighting is really beautiful. We were grated by the friendly staff and sat right away....We each had the seared foie Gras, fantastic. I had the beef tenderloin with morel mushroom sauce, wow. Wife had the special lobster risotto which was devoured. We both cleaned our plates. I would highly recommend you put this establishment on your must try list's.More

Sol e Luna has been and still is one of our favorite places when we are in St. Martin and I am happy to report that they have recovered beautifully from the hurricane. The restaurant is among the most beautiful I've ever visited anywhere with...an uber cool chill vibe. The food and service are still top notch. It was such a treat to return and we can't wait to go back!More

Great view table We had an amazing room and or table for a party of nine. Service was OK with you was outstanding it is our second time here at this restaurant first time this year. They were attentive meals were prepared and looked and...they looked good and overall experience was great however I do believe that the pricing is a little bit higher than what you get. When I go back again maybe next time would like to try the price fix lunchMore

So disappointed by this restaurant, and for the second time, which means there will never be a return visit. The setting is the best thing about it--beautiful open colonial space, like something out of the (privileged) past. The first time we went, last year, we...were underwhelmed by the service. What is more annoying than being treated like ghosts at a very expensive food emporium? The meal was just okay, certainly not worth the price, but the management finally apologized and said they were just extremely busy--it was very crowded--and short-staffed. So, this year, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned. The restaurant was conspicuously not crowded this time, but we were placed in an out-of-the-way corner, far from civilization, close to the kitchen. Odd in itself. The meal was astonishingly bland. Our appetizers were forgettable. My main plate of fish was overcooked--even dry and crusty. My husband could not even finish his fish main course, said it was tasteless, his highest condemnation. The waiter was absurdly inept, without the Fawlty Towers charm. He neglected to keep pouring wine (at 47 euros a main dish you'd expect at least that). Once when we singled to him to come over and pour he only did so for my husband, not for the others at the table. He seemed distracted at best, but certainly indifferent. And on top of all that the service was incredibly slow. Consider it took us three hours to get served two courses each on a non-busy night. We passed on dessert because by that time the whole experience was a sour one and no sweet third course was going to make us feel better. Besides, we'd still be sitting there. Management had an air of condescension last year. Same this year. This is such an uncharacteristic experience for us who are frequent, annual visitors to this island, and always find the restaurant staff in Grand Case establishments friendly and welcoming. Not here. Nor is this about the price. We don't mind paying, but when you are treated poorly, largely ignored, and served such disappointing dishes you have to wonder what you are, indeed, paying for. I am not recommending this place to anyone, ever, but am always interested in enthusiastic reviews by others who have had a quite different experience. Good for them. Bad for us.More

Both the service and the food were not up to the high quality of the facility and setting on the night we visited.

Hidden jewel of a restaurant in the French Cul de Sac. Great parking available, beautiful setting, and the food was absolutely wonderful. A little more expensive than others we went to but the food made up for it

Sol e Luna will have gluten free options, or vegan or vegetarian options. The management is very accommodating. If you call two or three days in advance, I am sure they will have extra gluten free options for you... More
