I was staying in the hotel so ended up eating here every night! I sometimes ordered off the light bites menu for lunch. All the food I had here was absolutely delicious! I would recommend the beef rib eye. I think that was my favorite...More

I had heard about Boucan and thought it would be worth a try. My husband and I stopped by for drinks one afternoon and decided to come back later for dinner. (Make a reservation -- we didn't, and we had quite a long wait, but...More

We're a well-traveled couple who've eaten in many fine restaurants. Our dinner at Boucan was especially memorable and a surprisingly reasonable compared to a high-end resort across the road.

Loved our meal (lunch) at Boucan. Best food of our entire vacation (Miami + St Lucia). Just the olive oil bread and dips while we were waiting for our actual food were to die for.

We ate here twice during our 5-night stay at Ladera resort (a short walk over the road), both meals were delicious! As you might have guessed - they incorporate chocolate into everything, but in a really subtle way. Being a huge chocolate fan, I was...More

I took my friend here for a surprise birthday meal, and we were super excited by the menu! Cacao is in every single course, from cocktails and starters, to mains and desserts (of course). It was such an interesting meal, and although some of the...More

Delicious meal, great service, and chocolate! I had a pork dish, my husband had steak. Both dishes were exceptionally prepared. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. Save room for dessert...we did! A real treat!

We had a great time here, but, spoiler alert, we are huge chocolate fans. We all loved our meal (which all came out at once and accurately - a weird comment but something we rarely experienced at the Sugar Beach restaurants). The restaurant was also...More

The resort is up in the hills, so is nowhere near the water I’m afraid!! The restaurant does overlook the pool though. The menu may have changed since our stay in May, however for lunch I had lovely chickpea kebabs which... More

  • This restaurant is at Boucan by Hotel Chocolat
Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!
