If you're looking for top quality local food prepared by great chefs then Boucan is the place for you. Be sure to make a reservation if you're not staying at the hotel. Sitting just below the petit piton, in what feels like the middle of the rainforest this restaurant has a magical vibe. Well presented food, excellent service and brilliant... More

Stayed at Ladera & walked across the street for dinner. Restaurant was in an open setting. Food was Cacao based. Apps Scallops, Gazpacho, tuna tartar were all good. Duck confit & Jerk Pork tenderloin were great too. Chocolate Genesis for desert -- small bites hit the spot. 1 drawback was the wine list. Would return.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere - great drinks and good food all including chocolate (however, the food is not amazing). The panorama view of the Petit Piton makes the perfect surroundings for couples and private dinner parties. Note that you need to come here before dark to be able to enjoy the view.

I have eaten twice at Boucan. And while I still have a slight preference for Dasheene (across the road at Ladera Resort), I have been pleasantly surprised by my Boucan experiences. The Boucan menu (as one would expect) features lots of dishes that contain inventive uses of chocolate and various parts of the cocoa bean. Chocolate lovers will not be... More

We were staying at Ladera and walked over to this place for dinner. The walk was really dark and a bit weird along the road but the food was fantastic. We liked their food much better than the food at Ladera.

The restaurant has a gorgeous view to the Petit Piton, which you can enjoy mornings and during the day time. The food is to die for - every meal is exquisite with a hint of their cacao plantation and domestic chocolate. We stayed at the same hotel for 6 days and tasted almost every of the dishes on the dinner... More

We stayed at hotel Boucan and dined in this restaurant nightly. What a treat! Every meal comes with an amuse bouche before the starter as standard (each one we had was divine - my favourite was the courgette and goats cheese warm soup topped with cocoa nibs) and is finished with a complimentary chocolate produced on the Rabot estate (a... Admittedly, there are other nice restaurants in Soufriere such as Ladera, and they tend to have a fairly standardized menu of a handful of expensive dishes which cost more than I would pay in a nice Manhattan restaurant and are not quite as good, BUT Boucan at Hotel Chocolat is a truly unique dining experience for which I would definitely... We ate here almost every day while in St Lucia. The food was simply tremendous. Breakfast is an experience. Excellent coffee. Fresh eggs, fresh vegetables and great fruit juices and drinks. Every day was different! Dinners and lunches were equally good. The cocoa nibs added to most dishes are fantastic. The drinks (especially the Chairman's rum punch) were terrific. On... More

When researching where to go for our 20th anniversary during our recent St Lucia vacation, we chose this restaurant because of the good reviews. Unfortunately our experience was disappointing. While the atmosphere was nice, the staff weren't very friendly and the entree portions were meager. The food was good but we left still feeling hungry, and after spending over $120... More

So sorry that you were disappointed with our experience, though you mentioned the food was good, it would seem that the portion size were not quite big enough to satisfy, we do offer freshly baked bread with dips plus amuse bouche for all our guests complementary from the Head Chef. More

Description
Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!
