This small out of the way restaurant was fabulous. We went two nights and both times had the Chef's suggestion. They were delicious. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. You will need to get reservations as this place never has room for walk ins.

Visited this place for dinner, it looked a bit odd with bright white light inside. The main course were the smoked ribs and the veal which were absolutely amazing. Also many dishes came by which looked equally good. The desert was a bit of a...disappointment, they were not freshly made. All together a great dining experience.More

We enjoyed everything from the atmosphere, the warm welcome from the hosts to the great Creole food. We tasted almost evrything that was suggested in the menu (went there 5 time during our 2 week stay) and were never disappointed. Just try it, but don't...forget to book as it's full every day it's open!More

I usually never leave reviews, but this place is amazing and I had to write one. We were driving by to eat at another restaurant and we saw this restaurant on the side of the road. We both instantly decided to stop, as we liked...the vibe. The dishes are simple yet amazingly aromatic (you have to try the creole sauce). We tried a lot of restaurants in the 2 weeks that we were here, a lot of them were chosen because of someone elses recommendation, but this small place is a great little hidden gem on the island, with better meals than all of the up-scale posh restaurants that everybody recommends. Nice view over the bay if you choose to stay inside, great music and vibes, and a chef that came to greet everybody personally.More

What attracted us to La Samcielo was the menu which has a number of items not offered at other local restaurants. To start we shared the Morue Accra and Boudin Noir - both were very good. The Accras were perfectly spicy and the Boudin has...a good pinch of cinnamon. For mains we had the escallope of lambi and a whole vivaneaux, which looks and tastes like snapper. Was a bit disappointed with the lambi as it was tougher than I thought it would be and the tamarind/Worcestershire based sauce is not a personal preference. Recommend for great menu. Dress lightly if you are going for lunch as there is no fan and so it was quite hot.More

Based on all of the reviews, the three of us were very excited to try this restaurant. We started with shrimp fritters, and two of us had the beef skewers and one the grilled conch. For sides, there were sweet potato fries, fries, side salads....We enjoyed the starter and the sides, but the proteins were incredibly tough. I ordered mine rare, and my friend ordered his medium/medium-rare, and neither of them had any red left in the meat. And the beef was incredibly tough. The conch was also very tough. Originally, we thought perhaps it was just difficult to get good beef on the island, but the next night one of us had a great steak (for about the same price) at another restaurant a few blocks away.More

We went o the restaurant based on the TripAdvisor recommendation. The owner is super friendly and compensates for the partly slow service. Food quality is good and prices are reasonable.

I've been in Martinique for close to a week and this is hands down the best meal I've had here on multiple levels (and to be completely clear I've had a lot of good meals here). Samcielo is a nondescript little house near the top...of the hill on the road out of Pointe du Bout. I would have missed it completely were it not for my fianceé flagging yesterday. We looked up the reviews and decided to make a point of getting a table (she knew I had been looking forward to some Creole cooking). There's not much parking there, but thankfully it was a 25 min walk from our AirBNB so we figured we'd stroll over & make a night of it. Once we got there, the place was pretty packed and warm, but it got a nice breeze. We were shown chalkboards with the menu and drinks list with a whole host of entrees (& cocktails) I hadn't seen at a lot of the other spots on the island. Good mix of Creole & French, but definitely a lean toward Creole. I didn't see Chicken Columbo (which I'd been dying to try) and asked the waitress whether they could do it. She asked us to wait a moment and ran into the kitchen & ran out a minute later- good to go! My fianceé got the Chicken Boucané and we both shared the Accras to start. We grabbed some drinks and waited for the food to arrive. The chef came out to greet us and shortly after the waitress brought out the Accras; easily the best we've had on the island. Super fresh and homemade, they were right out of the fryer and we had to wait a minute before eating. The Creole sauce was flavorful without being spicy and there were more than we could finish between the two of us (without ruining our appetites for the rest of dinner). When the mains arrived, we were head over heels. My fianceé likes smokey and the Boucaneé was perfect for her. I like spicy and the Columbo had a little kick (not killer spicy at all, but would still recommend you get rice with it). Both of us loved our mains and were psyched for desert when my fianceé started to feel a little light headed (it was a little hot & she had not been drinking water). I knew she needed to lie down and asked the waitress to call us a cab. Instead she brought me a shot of House Made Orange Infused Rum and told us the Chef would drive us home in a minute (and this was before we told her we were staying close by). I shot the shot, paid the bill, and we piled into the Chef's car and were home in two shakes. Have not had that level of service and care at a restaurant I wasn't a regular at in a loooooong time. Highly recommend.More

My wife and I went last night. The chef came out to great everyone. He's arch and charming, and his warmth put everyone at ease. We ordered grilled fish and lobster. Both were good, and the lobster was especially excellent. (The latter wasn't on the...menu, but you should ask for it.) And the food was very reasonably priced. In addition, the place is quiet. We definitely recommend it.More
