We might have walked past this place and not have known what was waiting inside...this was a stop on a walking tour....we learned how to make Mofongo! Once we the mofongo was made, sides of a stewed chicken, along with rice and beans were brought out. All Very Good! We would go back if given the opportunity.

We had a great meal here - freshly cooked, tasty, reasonably priced good food. The staff were friendly and attentive and it was great to see that when a mango fell from the trees around the courtyard they went straight into the mojitos and margaritas.

Our family of six ate lunch here and everything was superb: gazpacho and black bean soups, a variety of tapas, sangria and desserts as well. Service was great. We highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Delicious, reasonably priced authentic food. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We went as part of a foodie tour, made Mofongo while sipping delicious Mojitos. Loved it!

The restaurant itself is an old cell block so very low ceiling and quite small. That being said the food was very good and a fun experience to share everything.

I came here in the end of 2015 / early 2016, and it was terrific. I love Spanish food so naturally when I was back in Old San Juan in January 2017 I had to come back here. Just as before, the food was amazing. The traditional Spanish dishes are exactly as you would expect from a proper Spanish restaurant.... More

My husband asked for some jamon serrano and the waiter said they were out, but that they had pata negra which was just a little bit more. We were shocked they charged us $43.00 for a little plate of ham. Also, you could here the kitchen staff laughing through the dining area. I wouldn't be surprised they were laughing at... More

This little restaurant with a naturally (like trees and nature) canopied courtyard for extra seating was a gem. The food was phenomenal. The owner was in the premises and socializing. And to top it off there was a flamenco show in the corner that started while we were there. Speaking Spanish would have definitely helped but we got by with... More

Group of 5 colleagues. Beautiful structure, very historic; no signal inside the restaurant. Waitress were very kind. Food, for my taste no so yummy, but for my collegues was good. We order: croquetas de jamón with guava sauce, calamari with a white sauce (taste like mayonnaise). Curious thing was that we wanted the paella and they warned us that take... More

Across from El Convento Hotel so really not that hidden but doesn't seem to be that well noticed/recognized on Trip Advisor. Which on one hand is good because it wasn't overly crowded when we were there and were able to eat in their cute courtyard. Has some great tapas and the service was excellent!
