we may have just hit a bad day, but although the server was delightful, the food was really ordinary. we were very disappointed... since there are so many wonderful restaurants in old san juan, i would recommend only coming here for the lovely patio, the beautiful hotel and the really great pina coladas...

I went to Patio del Níspero to celebrate Valentine's Day and it was perfect. We start with a celery soup with mushroom raviolis. For second course we get the sea bass in an incredible mussel broth (this was my favorite). Then we get the main dish of a great hang steak in a mashed potato bed. Simply gorgeous!!! Ee finish... We took the family to del Nispero to remind us all of past visits to the hotel and city. We all had traditional recommended PR dishes, and thoroughly enjoyed the flavours and spices along with a great atmosphere. Service was excellent, and the casually elegant feeling was a great break from the day. Would highly recommend both the hotel and... More

Chef Joel Perez made our 7-course meal truly an experience that we will never forget. This was uniquely his own style yet very Puerto Rican and traditional, with hand picked herbs. If you want to have the best evening of your life in Puerto Rico meet with Joel and be prepared to have your senses overloaded!!!!

Terrific food, great service and music. El Convento is surprisingly affordable. I had a wonderful chicken disn, dessert and two glasses of wine for $49. Worth it at 3 times the price. I will visit every time I'm in San Juan.

We visited for a late breakfast. We were quickly greeted and seated in the courtyard. Pictures do not do it justice - it was a stunning space with a huge Nispero tree which towers above it. Our server, Carol, was a pleasure to meet. She went completely out of her way to help us book a stay on Vieques at... More
