The sushi was VERY fresh (as per my daughter) and the menu extensive. It was a typical hibachi place but the food was delicious and the service was very good.

The vegetable tempura, misu soup and entrees were delish! HIghly recommend eating here. Yamato represents the Hilton brand well.

We love sushi and we were not disappointed. I will say that it took a little too long for our food to come out but it was certainly good once we got it. It is a little pricey but not terribly overpriced for a hotel restaurant.

Hello there, while I'm really glad you enjoyed the food, I do wish we would have been able to get it out to you quicker. It sounds like it didn't impact the experience too much, but nonetheless I hope to do even better for you next time! All the best, David, Owner - Yamato Sushi and Teppanyaki Restaurant More

Having lived and worked in San Juan for a number of years I have had several opportunities to eat at Yamato Sushi, (and their sister restaurant "Eight Noodle Bar" in the Condado Plaza Hilton) and have always enjoyed good service and very good food. Was surprised to see several less than stellar reviews on Yamato. Stopped in last week while... More

It's always great to hear we've won over a local, Steve, so I really appreciate you taking the time to recommend us on TripAdvisor! Glad our sushi continues to hit the spot, and though overall pricing has increased with the change in sales tax, I'm happy to hear what you order is always well worth it. Can't wait to welcome... The sushi and filet meal were very good. We called ahead for reservations, but wouldn't have needed them at 7:30 on a weeknight. Good portions and priced as expected for a Japanese steakhouse. We didn't try the dessert. The Puerto Rican server was wonderful, but the Asian lady who was assisting her (or was it the other way around?) was... More

Convenient and that's it. The shrimp and steak dish my husband ordered was so salty it was hardly edible. Our main female server was great, and we were the only people sitting in the back. Yet, another wait person came up behind me, as my husband and I were obviously talking and took the soy sauce abruptly off of the... More

We went to Yamato for lunch while staying at the El San Juan hotel. With a family of five, we knew it was going to be really pricey for dinner. They have decently priced lunch specials so we tried it for lunch. We ordered both sushi and the teppanyaki lunch specials. The service was very slow. The sushi eaters had both... More
