Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I would say it’s the best jerked everything on the island. The food is incredible. It is a roadside place, so you’re eating on folded plastic tables, but the flavor makes up for the lack of decor!

We attempted to dine a few times but you have to get there before sunset if you want a table. We had good service but our meals we just a bit disappointing. I'd say that our chicken was getting a little dried out and we...didn't get much meat. Probably the fresh stuff was coming out later. I've eaten here many times before and this was the first time I didn't get any nice pieces of meat.More

I love my chicken and when it comes to Jerk , they do it right here. Fast and good, so good it’s priced for us tourists. One of the best , but not the cheapest.

Had the curry shrimp and it was amazing! We enjoyed dinner so much we went back again the next day. Loved the live music too - mellow island sounds.

best in the west has great food, affordable, a friendly staff and is very efficient with the amount of business they do. Customers are tourists and locals. It is one of the best casual places in Negril.

Delicious rice and peas, delicious jerk chicken, a bit dry, but the spices were amazing. $15 for 1/4 chicken with rice and peas, $9 for a cocktail one of our favourite spots in negril.

After ordering we waited for a full hour for our food to arrive. When we finally got our food it tasted good enough. When we were finished our food we waited for 20 minutes for somebody to come and clear our table. When they finally...came we asked for a takeout container and 15 minutes later we got the container but when we opened the container is was dirty and there were remains of food in it. We asked for a new one and they brought it to us. Then we were waiting for the bill for a half hour. When we finally got the bill they charged us 10 dollars USD for one bottled water and 9 dollars USD for a small beer. then they added a 10% tip to our bill when we had never said we wanted to tip and when we pointed out that we didn’t want to tip that due to the wait they said there was nothing they could do about it. We were there for over 2 hours and paid well over 100 dollars USD. Usually when I go to restaurants in my hometown or in other countries I’m there for 45 minutes-an hour tops. Being at this restaurant for over 2 hours is ridiculous and I would not recommend. The food is not worth the wait. Yes it’s good but not worth waiting an hourMore

Christmas Day looking for Jerk Chicken. Our favorite spots were closed so we went here. They had plenty of chicken prepared. We each ordered a half a jerked chicken. The first thing that was off putting was they were $27 each and that was WITH...OUT rice and pea and veg. We only had Jamaican dollars and that came to $3,600 JM they asked if we wanted bread with that and that was an extra $300 JM. It tasted like it was cooked yesterday and very dry with absolutely no jerk flavor. The sauce hid the fact that it was yesterday’s old with NO authenticity. They seem to cater to tourists in the beach. Smart choice jerk center in negril is really good @ $1,600 JM a 1/2 and Cool Vibes on west end road Negril is more expensive but amazing @ $2,600JM a 1/2. If you are in Negril and you’re ok with best in the west then that’s your place Otherwise go to the other two I mentioned or or Bourbon Beach you won’t be disappointedMore

Have been eating here for many years, usually 4-5 times over our 3 week holiday. This year we went for our first meal and realized they now want $6.00 US for a Red Stripe which is absolutely ridiculous. Complete greed. Needless to say we did...not go back and spent our money elsewhere. This is a road side eatery and our bill for 2 1/4 Chicken dinners $15 each with Rice and Peas, 2 beers and a water was close to $50 US. Too bad really as we love the atmosphere.More

I had BIG expectations. I knew it was “roadside food” but every forum, list, advice article on Negril names this place as a great place to eat. Our server was great, friendly and funny. Food was ready fairly quickly, despite it being very busy. We...had chicken, 2 half dinners and two rum and cokes and it was $100usd. The chicken was definitely leaning towards dry and it was COLD. Very overpriced for what we ate. Pretty disappointing. In our experience, not the best in the west:(More

One of the best meals I have had in Jamaica so far. Had the grilled shrimp. Was expecting just the usual… but this baby (shrimp) was seasoned on skewered with peppers and onions i between, was well seasoned , the rice moist and definitely cooked...with coconut milk (Toronto Jamaican restaurants please take notes) , then some jerk bbq sauce on the side. It was sooo good. Was not expecting it. Heard the oxtail is good so going there tonight for my last supper . The joint is a no frills type of place… but worth it.More
