Great jerk food!

This is a mostly outdoor restaurant. There is a counter indoors where you place your order for all food and pick up your sides. Then you go outside to the Smoke Hut where they grill the meats and pick up your order. There is some bench tables inside and picnic tables outside. The food is great! 5 stars for the food! The only drawback was the flies. It’s outside mostly, so to be expected. But still an aggravation when eating. We did order some to take back to our hotel as well. We had jerk chicken, jerk pork, sweet potato, festival, and bammy.

Pork Pitt best in town!

The food was hot, fresh and tasty! The pork won’t disappoint. Bbq chicken and sauce was amazing. The order of rice and peas were fresh and you really taste the coconut. Pack your patience as the line can get long but tells you all you need to know. Only regret was I should have doubled on the order of pork.

Don’t overthink it… just get the pork.

This place also offers chicken and shrimp, but for god’s sakes people… it’s right in the name of the restaurant! The shrimp is actually quite good, but it’s spicy and there’s no indication of that until you eat it. My wife, who ordered it, was absolutely dying. It was hot for me, and I love spicy food. The pork is absolutely killer here. Flavourful but not hot. I got it with a side of roti. The chicken looked pretty good too, but we didn’t try it.

This spot was definitely overpriced. Had a half chicken with three sides (french fries, plantains, and peas with rice, and one fruit juice, cost $27. The sauce on the overcooked chicken was tasty and the plantains were good. Nothing to rave about and would not revisit or recommend to friends. Oh... Found sea shell in my peas and rice...

Couldn’t review the food as they didn’t bother to make it

The service was so so and sort of distracted. They did use a phony exchange rate of $108 Ja to $1 US. Since it was for just a beer and water it wasn’t much but watch them. I was struck by the lack of seriousness as a business. We came on a day when 2 cruise ships were docked only to be told that at 1pm the pork “was late” in getting started and wasn’t available. That is no way to run a business.

Disappointing.

Name sake "pork" was dry. The open pit is nice but be prepared to smell smokey for a while. The portions are small and the food may be a bit overpriced. But.. wait. The chicken was delicious.. as were the plantain. Probably could find equally good at many other Jamaican restaurants at a more affordable price. I would say hit or miss on this one.

Heard about this place on YouTube and suggested to our friend if he could bring us here. SO glad we went! We ordered jerk chicken, jerk pork, festival and Red Stripe. You go in and order, then you get the receipt and bring it out to the pit and give it to the cook. You can see the meats cooking on the coals/sweetwood and the smoky smell just makes you drool! I wish we ordered one of everything lol! Especially the sausage. The food was delicious! We would definitely go back in a heartbeat.

Great Affordable Jamaican Jerk

Great food, very affordable, tourist friendly. Within walking distance from Jimmy Cliff Blvd, the "Hipstrip". Close to the beach, Coral Cliff Casino and Margaritaville. I went there many times, the Roti goes great with everything. See pictures. I loved earing here, staff friendly, lots of locals eat there as well.

Not the nicest staff the man on the jerk grill was nice. They were out of pretty much everything when we went. The jerk chicken lacked flavor which is very disappointing. The festivals were good and the fries were hot. The jerk chicken came off the grill and wasn’t even warm. I’d try it again when they have ribs and rice and peas.

A horrible venue staffed by angry, rude and ignorant people. Avoid!!!

The food is barely edible. That's the best thing about this awful place. The people are hostile and rude - even by the standards of an island legendary for its terrible service standards. Eat out of a bin before you eat here. If you need to go somewhere where there is at least some hope of "quality", there is a KFC 200 metres further up the road towards Montego Bay centre.

Authentic, tasty, cheap

One of the best meals we had in Jamaica. Absolutely no frills. You get well seasoned pork and some options for sides. It’s nice to be able to watch them smoking the pork over wood. If you’re staying nearby, I might get food to go instead of eating here. While the food was good, there were lots of flies at the tables and smoke was heavy at times. Cheap red stripe, good plantains, and of course good pork.

This was the authentic jerk that I was seeking. Both pork and chicken were seasoned well, tender, and very tasty. The sides took a bit longer, but I just killed time observing the men cook the meat in a very methodical way. I look forward to visiting again while I’m in the area. I see people say it’s a tourist trap, but when I was there I saw a lot of locals.

Without a doubt, this is literally the best food I have ever tasted!!! We had the pork and chicken, with some of their jerk sauce and rice and peas - all washed down with Royal Jamaican Ginger Beer. Totally laid back, and exactly what he had hoped it would be.

Best Jerk Pork in Jamaica!

Tried jerk chicken at several places in Jamaica, so thought to taste jerk pork this time at this MoBay eatery. Got early around 10 AM at this restaurant as I had a flight to catch to the US in the early afternoon. Had to wait for more than an hour as they start taking orders only after 11 AM. Took the risk of missing the flight to taste jerk port of this restaurant. Ordered 1/2 lb jerk pork and waited to see how they cook their jerk chicken and jerk pork. They cook the meat on open outdoor grill on the large galvanized steel sheets. In order to circulate the smoke into the meat, they place firewood on the top of the meat and then cover them by another galvanized steel sheets, a real Jamaican style! Hastily grabbed the meat once done in take out box and took taxi straight to the airport. When tasted, so soft, tender and juicy! The best jerk pork in Jamaica! Don't miss if you are around MoBay.

Nasty cashier and very dry jerk pork--skip this place

My experience was terrible. The cashier did not give me a receipt (she yelled at me and said she did...she did not) so I did not receive my pork for a very long time as you need this receipt to order the pork. This procedure was not fully explained to me. I received from French fries and beer from the counter inside very quickly but when I finally did receive the jerk pork, it was dry, chewy and burned. The place is totally depressing, there were very few people there except for a table of local men who were just hanging out. SKIP THIS PLACE.
