We visited this restaurant as wandering around the town in search of dinner. The pictures and names on the dishes next to them outside of the restaurant attracted our son's attention. We tried cassava for the first time (tastes like potato ), fried noodles and fried plantain (banana) , roti and curry were delicious as well. The service is fast... More

I think the restaurant is at a new location, just across the street from the Plasa Bieu! on De Ruyterkade in Punda. The food is just fantastic! Authentic Surinamese food! Very, very good!

We were the only people there for Lunch on a Tuesday. The waitress is Dutch and the wife of the Surinamese chef. Suriname, close to Curacao on the north east coast of South America, is a true melting pot, with no ethnic group more than 25% of the population. The food is eclectic and this restaurant did a great job... More

My wife and I had visited Curacao 4 years ago and we did again recently for our honeymoon. When we went the first time we saw De Ruyter Cafe Surinamese food and we wanted to go the first time but we didn't have a chance. We did recently and it was one of the best dinners I've ever had. The... More

We happen to learn of this place from a very nice gentleman we met earlier in the day. When we arrived, we were the only ones there. The place is a little rough, no ac but outside was a nice breeze so it was tolerable. The owners were kind and really seemed to care about their food. My wife had... More

Our first time in Curacao we spotted this place where people streamed out with neatly tied white plastic take-away bags. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to eat there, but this time we made a point of doing so and we were glad we did. We opted to eat outside in the small covered dining area right on the main... More

I have only eaten the dish called Pom, but it was magic! The flavours were all new and exiting to me who is used to Swedish food.

We went there (after an unsuccessful attempt during the weekend) during lunch time, it was not crowded and we were nicely welcomed and seated by the waitress (that I assume is the owner as well). We ordered nice homemade drinks (tamarind and passion fruit) and our food. I had the vegetarian Bami Goreng and my wife had the garlic fish.... More

We had walked all over Willemstad and I was getting hungry. My husband did not have any appetite, as I don't think he felt well. The Old Market across the street was vey hot inside and crowded, so we opted for this small, outdoor café with a covered patio and great breeze. We chose a table and waited to be... More
