At first we thought this was some sort of a flea market. In fact, it is a gigantic covered picnic-like restaurant. There were lots of locals, always a good sign in addition to a good smattering of tourists. The food is simple but delicious. Be sure to try the rice and peas. There is nothing fancy here but you can't... More

I had a great time people-watching over a bowl of iguana stew and a Polar beer during a rare downpour in lovely Curaçao. I ordered from Grace di Dio (or something of that nature) and enjoyed the enthusiasm of the owner and staff. Will visit this kitchen again.

Went here two days in a row for lunch, once on each end of the building. We had fish stew, chicken stew, sqash pancakes the first day and stewed chicken, stewed oxtail and the fried red snapper on the second day. All were so good. The atmosphere is cool with the ladies cooking over coal fire. You shouldn't mind the... More

Not a fancy place by any means, but a great place to get an authentic Curacao lunch. My husband and I split a plate of fried fish, rice and plantains for $10 and there was plenty of food. When you walk in someone will try to hand you a menu, but walk up and down the row by the cooking... More

It was a true experience and pleasure to be here today. Amazing local food, fantastic waitress. There are many rows with tables where people just find a spot, even next to you. I believe it's open daily from 12pm to 2 pm. You definitely shouldn't miss this when your in Curaçao. It's also an easy location to find and plenty... More

For a best local dishes that's the best place to be. It's not fancy but cozy and most important it's not expensive. Most of the time when you go on vacation, you want to taste food that the local people make and eat every day, In curaçao it's called "kuminda krioyo". So if you want the best of it you... More

Have eaten here twice already. A large plate of local food is 17.50 florins or 10 US. Food was tasty if a bit salty for my taste. Interesting selections in a bustling marketplace. Stoba or stew comes with rice and beans or funchi, and fried plantains and salad. Didn't try the drinks as water is free and it was hot!... More

I know many people that don't want to go to plasa for many reasons; be it hygiene (misconceptions), how full it always is, or whatever. But I gave the place the benefit of a doubt and one thing I can say for sure is that you can't just go once, to one restaurant and try one thing. Nowadays I go... More

Plaza Bieu is the place to go if you want a truly authentic experience of the Caribbean food. The food is made in the open and there is no doubt that it is a place that locals eat their lunch. We ordered Caribbean beef stew and cactus soup. The beef was amazing, nice and spicy- not too spicy just enough.... More
