This restaurant is in a beautiful, grand colonial building which once housed the Bacardi family and is worth visiting for the ambiance alone. A surly pianist played all the usual Cuban standards and we were unable to entice a smile from him despite our appreciation and applause. Our waitress was wonderful but the other waitress studiously ignored our attempts to... More

This was the worst experience we had so far in Cuba: the lemon in the mochito was replaced by pure dish washing liquid. The service was terribly slow and the food was so so. Please save yourself this experience. The building was very nice, the interior looked fine, but ....... Brrrrrrff

This fabulous building has clearly been cleaned up since some of the pas comments were made. The foyer is out with crystal chandeliers, opulent mirrors and furniture are tastefully placed. The dining room has more chandeliers and a fabulously decorated grand piano. All of the staff are dressed as if at the Ritz... As I speak reasonable Spanish, I chatted... More

This is a classic old house (of the rum family, Bacardi) with a very interesting patio/courtyard, and an impressive if decrepit entrance hall. You enter through an impressive door and turn right into a large but dingy restaurant. We ate there about 8pm in the evening. There were a few tables of local people there who were waiting for food... More

When you get to this place at first glance it gives an image of what it does not actually is...A former classical Santiago de Cuba mansion that has been tranformed into a third class government-run restaurant where food is below OK and the service can be very disappointing to say the least...

The attractive building and the amazing patio inside makes the place worth visiting! The art deco architecture makes the experience unique and the friendly stuff set high standard quality! The service was fast, the stuff always discreet was taking a very good care of us while they did their best to keep us satisfied and to keep the quality high.... More

We were so happy to find a genuine place to pay in peso instead of CUC, and the restaurant was pleasant to sit in. The restaurant was empty, but they brought in a piano player when we arrived, and the waiter was very friendly and polite. The food seemed so good, when we thought we were paying so little. Unfortunately... More

Except for the building in which it's located and a rather pretty entrance, this restaurant has nothing to recommend it. The food was not very good, and we ended up sending back one of our dishes. The service was slow, and inattentive. There was a balcony on the 2nd level, but just for drinks---no food. Would definitely avoid eating here

The building is magnificent and the terrace is a great place to enjoy the view and occasional breeze, but... the menu is limited to begin with and on inquiring, it turned out they had...one kind of rice, not four and the chicken we ordered arrived as pork. The tomato salad was sliced tomatoes on a plate. If they tried even... More
