When I first entered La Mina I was an naive man unburdened by the utter dystopia of this restaurant's food. The glean from my eyes is now forever gone and let me share my experience with you. Me and 2 other friends (RIP their souls) asked the waitress for a suggestion and she recommended their delicious chicken to us. After... More

I cannot comprehend how this place has such a high score.. the food is not eatable! In all cases avoid the grilled chicken, we are still convinced this is definitely some other animal..the ropa vieja is tasteless and the consistency is weird. The rice and beans are completely tasteless and not even well cooked. The service was not even friendly..... More

We stopped here for a drink asnd some lunch and were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the fish meals were that we ordered. The Mojitos were good and the place has a wonderful ambience about it. We sat outside and it was great to eat, drink amnd watch the world go by. We would definitely return...

It was an ok eatery with inside and outside seating The service wasn't the best, the food was average, and the prices just a little higher than the other area restaurants It was clean and a good location on busy Obispo.

We saw this restaurant as we walked around Plaza de Armas. The menu was openly available to look at and we fancied trying the set 3 course meal for 15 CUCs. Although limited choice of meal, it did include a cocktail and I thought it reasonable value for money considering its location. The food wasn't brilliant but it was OK.... More

This is what people warn you about. And why you have to do your research before you dine somewhere! It's a good location for weary and hangry travelers, but it's just awful. The rice and beans they served me were cold and hard. On a positive note, a lot of cute cats around the restaurant. Because they know you'll give... More

This is a classic example of a tour guides recommendation that should be avoided. Food was bland and unexciting and service was very poor. One main course arrived 10 minutes before the next and both were luke warm. Only plus is that it was very cheap but then I suppose you get what you pay for.

We came to this restaurant on our first night in Havana and had two different pork dishes that were very good which was followed by a dessert that we both agreed was fantastic. As a result we went back the next night and they didn't have either of the four dishes available or the dessert. We had something else that... More

This was where we ate dinner for the first time in Cuba. The patio of the restaurant overlooks a major colonial square and is very atmospheric. The weather outside was beautiful. This is a government run restaurant - which we learned later - so the food and the service are no good. Our waiter was passively nice but very slow... More

Restaurante La Mina, Havana. 22 Feb 2017 Our worst dining experience in Cuba. The service was rude and hostile as well as slow. Waiters were actively unpleasant. Most food on the menu was not available. For example, we ordered bread and pate. The bread was delivered, and we were then told there was no pate but butter was available. The... More
