As per the title you can see I wasn't overly impressed, we were fooled by the sign which has a 6ft coffee cup on it. After waiting for 10 minutes and watching the waitress and waiter hang around serving others I had the temerity to go and ask if we could order a coffee, I received a look as if... More

I was at Café El Escorial last week in Havana. Here is the deal: it is hit or miss on getting a table (we didn't - too crowded). The wait staff is, indeed, very rude. This was an anomaly during our time in Havana, but it is true here. BUT - I waited in line for about 45 minutes to... More

The coffee is worth waiting for, but you will have to wait (30-40 minutes). So, if you have the time and patience it is a good spot to sit and watch the world go by, while the snails overtake the waiting staff. If you want the ground coffee, be prepared for a long wait as well.

Except the location that is nice with a good view of the square, there is nothing else that could make me advice to recommend this place. The waiters are probably the rudest that I met during my stay in Cuba. Really bad behavior for no reason. Also the prices are much high for such a bad coffee.

The smells comes from miles away!!! When you reach the square just follow the coffee smell. Family run coffee shop is ready to serve best coffee. Try cortado! I purchased daily ground coffee beans after 10 days rest i did my cortado by rocket espresso machine and the result was perfect. The cream of coffee is really better. The shop... More

We stopped here for a coffee as our guide the previous day had pointed it out as being a good place that served excellent coffee. She was not wrong. A great place to sit , listen to Cuban music and sip a coffee and have a cigar. This was our favourite square and we kept returning to it but to... More

Great place to sit and watch the Plaza Vieja with good coffee apparently roasted on the premises. However, the service was just awful, even by the standards of other Cuban restaurants. Difficult to attract a waitress and then an attempt was made to rip us off with the bill by charging for drinks we did not have.

We stopped here for breakfast on a recommendation. The coffee was great, but our server seemed less than happy to help us. She brought no menu, just told us the breakfast was eggs. What she served us was fine, fried eggs, bread and fruit, but we saw other tables being served different dishes. I'm not sure what was available, but... More

Here looking at this nice plaza, and smelling the coffee scent of Cuba, taste a delicious Bombon: coffee with condensed milk. Great discovery!
