Enjoyed a late lunch of sushi and fried rice on the outdoor patio. The Arashi roll was pretty decent; the Rainbow roll was better. The friend rice was delicious. But really? Charge more for extra ginger? $50 (with tip) is a lot for a sushi lunch.

This place needs improvement asap it is not what it used to be...I used to love the meals here and the service and it seems like the waitresses are not motivated NOT even if you show them the TIPS and our Sushi was not that great I felt like they were serving me yesterday's Sushi.

My husband and I went Wednesday 11/16 @ 7:30pm. It was a super HOT night so, we opted to sit inside. The seating was very awkward. I think they are going for an authentic Japanese dining experience but, sadly miss the mark! Plus, it wasn't any cooler inside. The menus are so worn and water logged, mine practically fell apart.... This restaurant is located in the Renaissance Hotel area of Oranjestad, Aruba. If you don't have a car and don't feel like taking a taxi this is your place. I'm actually surprised after having read all the reviews the owners haven't heeded the reviews of customers about their menus. They're just plain NASTY! Old, tattered and sticky the plastic coating... More

Sushi Ya is a place we often go to for sushi. The food is consistently good and its a relaxed place to eat. Nothing wrong there. My only complaint is that the menus are very old and tatty, i have mentioned it on several visits to the waitress, So i decided now to put it on trip advisor, hopefully the... More

The location is really good. Conveniently located near the Renaissance resort I go to often. You can hear music from Cuba's cooking if they don't have music of their own. Near the water, what could be wrong? Everything after you sit down is wrong. What I ordered was not well prepared and tasted like something wasn't right. When I told... More

I.m a sushi lover. I eat it every chance I get. I was excited to try it in Aruba and Sushi-Ya was a huge dissapointment! Service was decent, nice music but sushi- horrible! No flavor, no taste, seaweed was so tough you actually cant brake it with your teeth! I mean seriously, they need to hire people who know how... More

The seatings are awkward and not comfortable at all. Felt like jumping hurdles to get seated. The soup at the beginning was ok but my sashimi had several spines in it. The rest was not bad, but neither could raise my spirits. Overall the quality was not according to prices asked for the meals..

We visited Sushi-Ya. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The menu cards looked a little run down, could be renewed. The Staff knowledge on the food was very good. We where served promptly. we decided to sit inside at an table, which turned to be an challenge to get in, but comfortable to sit. Afterwards I would advice... More

The sushi wasn't bad but it also wasn't memorable. The service was super slow. Several times we had to go find someone to serve us more drinks. We waited over an hour for our food while others around us got served. No one apologized or tried to expedite. Very disappointing.
