Delicious lunch - moules fries plus salmon in hollandaise sauce washed down with a bottle of farmhouse Normandy cider. Good friendly service. As good on second visit as on the first. What more could you ask for?

What a lovely liitle brasserie. Different to most places you visit but great ambience all the same. 5 of us had the 2 courses for £15..certainly well worth it. Top quality, on all the dishes, and not skimping on quantity either Service, ambience, decor...quaint and quirky....absolutely fabulous, the food was superb. Next time I am in Bruton, I will most... Having moved into the area, we discovered Truffles as we explored Bruton. I'm glad we did! We opted for the two course lunch menu. I chose sea bream with crushed potatoes and warm tomato salsa, my partner opted for a bowl of raclette with fresh bread. My sea bream was cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned with a delicious crispy skin.... More

Great wholesome food in a small boutique type setting. The waitress was attentive and polite and the Surroundings intimate. A little background music playing quietly. If you want a cosy meal with tranquility this should suit you. The food was cooked to order and my boyfriends Steak cooked to perfection. We particularly enjoyed the Prawn starter !! We will happily... More

We booked last minute for the steak night last week, having previously had numerous successful meals at Truffles. Upon arrival we were advised by our waitress that they were serving sirloin instead of the rib-eye as advertised. But I had gone out with the intention of having a steak supper, so went ahead and ordered it! The waitress was young... More

I am sorry you were disappointed with your sirloin steak. I must take repsonsibility for instructing the chef to try sirloin steak on this occasion following a recent visit to France where the faux fillet was very good. The price of Ribeye steak has been going up in recent months but the sirloin steak from a local supplier was equally... More

Thank you Caroline for your good review. On your recommendation I tried the lemon mousse and agree that it is very good. All our desserts are freshly made, apart from the Lovington's ice cream and sorbets, and that is apparent in the superior taste over ready prepared versions which some establishments may serve you. Once again thanks for another good review from you. On your suggestion I tried a baguette; on this occasion filled with chicken breast and was bowled over by the great presentation, taste and value for money. It's fortunate others (such as the local schools) haven't discovered this yet otherwise our chef would be constantly busy preparing baguettes and have no... More

Very delicious French food, especially the liver. The wine choice was excellent and the service too was superb. The downstairs looks more French and romantic whilst the upstairs felt more formal and traditional.

Thanks Bryony for your review which is spot on for accuracy and succinctness! The two restaurant levels with one very French and informal and the upstairs more formal is a model which works well for us and some customers will only eat in one and not the other! Maybe we should rename ourselves 'Remain and Brexit' with the francophiles eating... More

We had lunch here when the pub our friends wanted to eat at was found to be closed. We were not disappointed, we all enjoyed the meals we chose, everything was freshly cooked. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the service was good.

Thank you Susanna for giving us a try. People are so set in their ways that it is often when our competitors close or are full up that they gingerly come to us. We hope you will make us first choice in the future and please note that for those seeking beer that we stock several different varieties of mainly... More
