The staff working here are lovely.. very friendly and helpful. As you have to eat in here unless it's your dinner included evening it would benefit from a bit of a makeover. It's a little on the grubby side and looks a bit tired and...worn. The food quality is good and service is efficient.More

Had a lovely 3 course meal. The dessert was delicious. Had a few drinks at the bar, not too over priced and the staff were lovely. The bar is open to the general public and it’s a great stop over for cyclists and walkers.

very crowded bar, good food but bar food with furniture that needs replacing. Not a DINING restaurant as expected in our package.

This bistro bar is not pretending to be a fine dining location. Instead, it offers a range of tasty foods, with some quite imaginative combinations. The prices are reasonable too. We ate there several times.

We had an evening meal here as it was part of our TravelZoo 2 night stay deal. No menus were available online so I had gone to the bar earlier to take menu photos so we knew what we wanted before going for our meal....I've posted these photos on this page. We could choose from the TDH menu or have £18 towards the all day menu. I had pre-booked a restaurant table for 7pm on the Monday. We were informed that the restaurant was not available and all meals would be served in the bar. It was not that busy but the service was just so slow. It took 20 minutes before I could get them to take our order then another 25 minutes before the starters turned up. There was also a wait for the main course and a longer one for the desert. We finally got the deserts about 9pm so 2 hours after arriving. The food was very good and the service pleasant enough but the slow service spoiled it. The Samson Inn down the road was a much better experience.More

Food very good. Drinks are drinks but the prices are especially good for a hotel. Very nice staff. Large tv in one corner but the room is large enough that if you don't want to watch it you just sit somewhere else.

Can't definitely confirm they do in October specifically but what you want seemed to be available most of the time that we were there.
