The La Plantation restaurant is not your typical high-end Moorea restaurant. Like several of the large restaurants, La Plantation offers free hotel pickup and return. La Plantation does not overlook the water, but instead features a beautiful private garden, where you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks. For our meal, we moved indoors to enjoy the cuisine, then we took advantage of... More

The server/host did a great job of explaining our dining options and we were very satisfied with the food selections. The server took care of the mosquitoes with a burning coil and this seemed to help. We found the the outdoor environment to be very pleasant part of our dining experience.

We arrived w/o a reservation and were seated immediately. The mosquitoes near the front were vicious despite the waitress giving us 3 anti-mosquito burn coils. The waitress was absolutely the sweetest ever. She engaged and recommended some great food choices. The Moorea Shrimp and the Opah (Saumon des Dieux) cheeks were fantastic. Def. a must try while on island. Bring... More

The food was excellent. The waitress was very nice. I think we found the best restaurant on a Sunday. We had Ceviche and crab with coconut. I had a thun raw and after a maigret de canard. We had a local beer and lovely drinks while we were in our lunch. I recommend this restaurant

Went there tonight with the wife who is vegetarian. Food was phenomenal across the board. The place was empty except for another friendly Canadian couple. I had the moorea shrimp and the chocolate pistaroles. The shrimp was wonderful - the rice side dish was great as well. The chocolate dessert may have been one of the top 5 desserts I... More

Everything that we had was excellent. Wine, salmon, Moorea shrimp, chocolate mousse, and creme bruille. Stella, you are the greatest. Thank you, Tony & Gail

The restaurant had great service and the owner/chef accommodated our vegetarian diet. The food was great! She even gave us a ride back to hotel!

When we arrived after walking to the restaurant we were hot and thirsty but we were only allowed to drink our water if we bought a drink from the restaurant, so we were forced to buy a drink. We ordered our food and waited what seemed like a lifetime for the food even though there was only one other couple... More

The plantation is a bar and a restaurant so drinks and food are not alloweed from outside. And you don't have to buy a drink if you eat and you don't have to eat if you drink. So sorry if you are not happy with that and if you were not anymore hungry after this fact.. More

Given all the positive reviews here we decided to try out Plantation. We went there for dinner on a weeknight night. We were the only customers when we arrived, but figured we might just be early at 7pm. When we left after 9pm we were still the only ones there. Food was slow to arrive, overcooked, and the fish generally... More

It was a long wait! Only after we received our food did the waitress tell us that it was because the wind was blowing out the fire they used for cooking, which is fine, but it would have been nice to hear this while we were waiting. It was delicious.
