We married at the Royal George in 2002 and had a wonderful experience - high quality food and excellent service. As a result we are keen to pop in for sunday lunch but unfortunately over the last few years, the standard of food has been disappointing so we don't go as often as we would like. We tried the mothering... More

Already booked for their Christmas menu. Great value and the staff are so friendly, it's like going to family for Christmas diner. We use the Royol George often, and enjoy Sunday lunch there throughout the year. Good choice on the menu. Love their Christmas pud. We will be there with our Christmas jumpers in December.

What a delight sit in the warm comfortable bar enjoying a drink while studying the extensive menu. Make your choice and after a short wait called through to the restaurant for your chosen starters. Food was superb and the service attentive. I especially recommend the lamb chops,

We liked it here - the ambiance was quite 'old fashioned' but that is no bad thing as far as we were concerned but it might not suit everyone. There was a good choice of options on the menu to suit all tastes and service was friendly.

Staying in tintern and just popped in after a walk for some light refreshments,,,not sure what the problem was,but the lady behind bar looked really hacked of to have to actually move off her seat to serve us,felt really unwelcoming and defo wouldn't even consider asking for food!!

Picture a hot day, nowhere to park, the popular pubs and eateries heaving at the seams... everywhere very hot and busy... then imagine a haven of calm and you will have arrived at the Royal George Hotel! There were spaces in the car park so we thought we'd give it a go, we just needed to get out of the... More
