We stayed for one night to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. The staff were all very nice and wished us a happy anniversary and we even had a personalised menu at dinner time. The house itself was stunning and our room (15) was gorgeous, the en suite was finished to a very high standard with a gorgeous bath and shower... More

Arrived for lunch yesterday - stunning location and views, friendly and welcoming staff - however - really disappointed with the food - I'm not a massive big eater however the portions were insubstantial. When the mains turned up we sat and waited for veg and potatoes ( having seen the table opposite passing vegetables and potatoes around) was hugely embarrassed... More

Three of us arrived for a birthday dinner. We were really looking forwards to this dinner. Sadly it was not be as good as it could have been. Service was VERY, VERY slow - Unbelievably slow. No excuse here as they had lots of staff and it was only a Tuesday evening. It was also a little expensive at £276... More

Food was very good, as was service. Tasty posh nibbles including an Cheek with Horseradish that was lovely. An amuse bouche of a Potato and Leek soup was nice, nothing wrong with it, just a bit uninteresting. My Lobster and Scallop Cerviche was fresh and ready. My wife's Hake starter was not cooked enough (raw in middle). Sent back and... More

Just before Christmas a group of friends got together, lovely hotel with stunning views and very welcoming and relaxed, unfortunately they had a wedding in the main restaurant Saturday who seem to invade all the hotel public space, which was a little disappointing. We had the tasting menu which was very pleasant but not outstanding, service very inconsistent,as each course was served by... More

As soon as we arrived we were made comfortable in a lounge area upstairs where we were served drinks and hors d-oeuvres. What a super introduction to the start of a great night. Being a group of 8 was no problem to the very helpful and friendly staff, no-one was left waiting for their meals and wow what meals. We... More

Lovely food and lovely ambiance...a fine dining experience but BOY was the wine expensive! ( unnecessarily so I felt!) and meal could have been enhanced by some vegetable or roast potatoes, instead of the beautifully arranged roasted spring onion. Service was a bit hit and miss but I appreciate it was Christmas Eve.

Had a wedding there the actual venue is lovely and beautiful surrounding's but not very well organised. No one was in behind the bar for ages as they were short staffed, the food was very nice but left you hungry. Have been to lot's of weddings and would not recommend this place. Shame it could be perfect

An outstanding but relaxed restaurant with a good small menu using local ingredients where possible. It is the focus on a fairly small menu that enables the kitchen to focus on producing high quality food with superb presentation. Although not large the portions are more than adequate and will no doubt satisfy the most demanding of palates. The wine list... More

Having submitted a review on the Horn of Plenty Sunday lunch had by myself, my husband and mother, I received a phone call from Candace at The Horn of Plenty, who wanted to find out more about our experience. It transpired that she had been wrongly informed by the waitress involved that our plates had gone back to the kitchen... More
