Very nice atmosphere, staff excellent and very friendly, dog friendly (not just tolerant !), nice garden. Only downside was vegetable portions with the meal were a little small but meat was perfect. Very nice stop on the way back from a day out.

I have been here several times and every time the food has been excellent. It may be a little more expensive than most places BUT the food is home made and very delicious.. you can tell its I not pre-bought and all veg was fresh and tasty. The service was good and very friendly people.

We came here as a bigger group (12 people) and had to pre-order food. But due to that we were served quite fast. It gets not too busy during lunch time but booking a table is recommended. It's a good pub for Cambridge standards.

Very quiet restaurant, a little strange on a Friday. Starters good, mains a bit mixed. Slow cooked lamb a bit dry. Chocolate brownie style and honeycomb ice cream poor, dry brownie (it had a fancy name) hardly any ice cream and plate banged down by older waitress, also overpriced. Won't bother returning.

I've had a couple of sub standard—particularly for the money—meals in here lately. Last time the bread was stale in the sandwich I ordered. The ales are usually okay.

Ate at the Red Lion on a Saturday evening whilst visiting a friend in the village. We enjoyed the warm fire, friendly atmosphere and good food served in large portions. We ate in the bar area which was lively without being too noisy. The service was very good and the manager was knowledgeable and friendly. All in all a very... More

We were a party of six adults and two children celebrating a birthday. The service was attentive, the food was excellent and the beer was described as 'very good!' Also room beside table for small baby in pushchair. Large car park on site.

Second visit in just over a month and everything about the visit was better again, service was a bit quicker and the food was better. I went for the duck and chocolate roulade, the latter of which was very very tasty and the alcoholic cherries were marvellous. Recommended.

We visited the Red Lion, Hinxton for my dad's birthday as he fancied a Sunday Lunch roast. As I had visited recently I recommended the Red Lion and it didn't disappoint! We all enjoyed a delicious dinner with all the trimmings and flavours you'd except from home but with added finesse! There was pork, lamb and beef on offer and... More
