I was looking forward to a stay on Valentine's Day. I had a business meeting, my husband accompanied me, we stayed for one night and we were looking forward to dinner. The bed was comfortable, the room looked spartan. I disliked the fact that there...More

We went for a family meal at the Lion. The food was delicious and the service was great. I had the roasted scallops and ribeye steak and both were cooked to perfection and tasted lovely. I thought the price was reasonable for the mains but...More

The Red Lion pub/restaurant is a rustic and beamed listed building that is quintessentially English. The menu, which changes every 2 months, offers both contemporary and traditional dishes, uses locally sourced produce. We had roast sirloin beef with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, and seasonal vegetables as...More

Having criticised this place a month ago, I returned for lunch with two friends on the Friday before Christmas, in the hope that my previous poor experience was a one-off. If anything, standards were worse, borne out by the fact that, so close to Christmas,...More

Thank you for visiting us again for your lunch on the Friday before Chrstmas. I am sorry that you found your beer-battered haddock not to your liking. Our haddock is delivered daily and remains one of our most popular lunch time dishes. We have had...More

We arrived whilst doing the Harcamlow Way and were disappointed that we missed food service time. We plumped for crisps of which there was only one flavour... anyway, the pint was cold, the pub was warm and it’s pretty cosy.
