Went for lunch. Tattie pot was beyond belief good and my wife's fish finger sandwich was superb. Asked barman to convey my compliments on the basis that bar meals cannot come better. Other diners appeared equally happy.

We had booked a cottage in the area to celebrate a birthday with friends so booked to eat here & we were not disappointed. Staff were very good as it was quite busy & the meal was lovely.

Just returned from an excellent evening at the Kirkstile. First visit. Went to celebrate birthday and had a fantastic three course meal and drinks for a very reasonable price. Even though busy, staff were friendly and attentive and served in reasonable time even though advised that service could be longer than usual. Definitely recommend taking a detour to visit.

I had been for dinner at the kirkstile in a few years ago, and was not disappointed on my lunch time visit. Busy pub, roaring fire, garden with views, superb beer Loweswater Gold. And pub lunch. Good fun d and pleasant staff , god size car park.

Yet another fantastic meal! We stopped for lunch and I ate the fish finger sandwich. I was not disappointed! On a rainy day, it was ideal to sit beside the roaring fire too.

The steak & ale pie is a must, it's the ultimate warming comfort food after a full day walking! We weren't disappointed with any of the food, it was all really lovely. The service is brilliant, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. We will be returning, it's a little... More

We called in here for a lunchtime break from our walk round Crummock Water. The food and beer were very good, the bar area was cosy and the service good. I can recommend this as a great place to stop for refreshment.

My husband took our family out for my birthday lunch at the Kirkstile pub today. I couldn't have had a better birthday meal. I had gorgeous sea bream fillet and my boys had homemade steak pie. Fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, reasonable prices and excellent value for money! Thanks to the kind gentleman in the Wheatsheaf pub in Low Lorton (another... More

Very nice British pub. Unfortunately they don't serve food after 2:30. Big blow. We ended up eating overpriced sandwiches. It's a shame. Great local beer though.

Thank George S
