We had heard that their was new management in charge, so decided to give it a try for a meal last night. Anne & I arrived by taxi at 7:45pm and walked into an empty bar area. After waiting 5 minutes, a lady appeared telling us that the kitchen was closed and that they were closing to prep for Mothers... More

Yet another change of management. How much longer can this once very popular hotel survive? We were the only diners prior to their early closing on a Friday night! Recently refurbished throughout to a very good standard, new decor, tables & chairs, crockery, the lot - and yet devoid of customers... Warm welcome from the staff on arrival, and served... More

Decided to go for lunch to save catering for nine on Sunday. What a mistake! Bar service was very slow but that wasn'tthe real problem. It was 3.15 pm and not that busy. There was no queue for the carvery. However the food was awful. The only nice part was the turkey but as for the rest! Beef was tough,... More

After waiting over 25 minutes for fish and chips we were served with 2 very overcooked fish the batter was a very dark brown and extremely hard and inside obviously dry. When we brought this to notice the manager had no interest whatsoever in actually coming over and engaging in any form of conversation. When paying for the drinks she asked me... Visited for the first time on Sunday 26th for Sunday lunch. Waited ages to order lamb stew and cottage pie, only one overworked guy behind the bar! Then waited nearly an hour for the food to arrive. In the meantime took a look on Tripadvisor and saw that the reviews took away any appetite I had. The meals arrived, the... More

What a shambles. Could not organise a p**s up in their own brewery! One and a half hours later no communication from staff, We were told they don't have some of our food. Two hours later we complained and seen our food walking past which was not fit for a dog. Pub was empty no excuse for how shocking this... More

If I could give 0 I would...arrived at 12:30 to do the Saturday afternoon quiz (which was fun but overshadowed by the awful food experience) it took until about 13:30 for them to inform us that they didn't have one of the meals ordered. Obviously questioned why it had taken this long to tell us and we would expect to... More

My family and I visited the Eastham Ferry Hotel on Monday 20th February for lunch. It wasn't particularly busy but after waiting over an hour for our meals, we were then told that one of the options wasn't available after all. When our meals did arrive, three of them were over-cooked. The bar staff were very good and did what... More

From what I read, this is a Marstons pub and I guess it is Marstons who paid for the recent refurbishment. Well, they've done a cracking job and it really is nice inside (we didn't see outside as it was going dark). Sadly, that's where it ends as the service was generally poor and the food was terrible. The staff... More
