I had lunch in one of their private rooms that fits up to 20. The room was very nice with a great view from the 68th floor. The menu iteself was okay, just about expectation on what you pay for. There was a service where...they took a picture of the full party which we received at the end of the meal in a nice card. Due to the size of the room and the ambience, I will keep this place in my list when I need to have gatherings this size.More
One of most favoruite restuarants. My wife and I have been many times. The food and service is top quality. They have the freshest of ingredients and most amazing combinations. For a nice romantic dinner in Yokohama it can't beat with the amazing views from...65f....breathtaking (Just hope that it is not cloudy!)More
As an European in Japan I was naturally looking for a good restaurant for me and my business partner. Unfortunately my expectations were a bit higher than reality.. When you use a term "French gastronomy" a high level service is expected. Food was quite nice...but me always put more attention on service..More
We ate here several years ago--this site does not permit one to select a date before December 2013, but it was before then--and I am happy to see that it still exists. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. I remember with particular fondness the dessert,...ice cream with a sauce of red and black raspberries and wine, prepared at table side. Our table was next to a window and we overlooked Yokohama's night view for miles: very lovely.More
The restaurant certainly seems popular enough, seeing that they strictly adhere to two sittings per evening - or at least that was the case when we were there on a Saturday. Weeks in advance we had wanted to book a table for five around 7...pm, but were told that they could only accommodate us for the sitting at 8.30 pm, as the earlier one was already fully booked. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice indeed. Very romantic and with breathtaking views, though not onto the bay. As it was already pitch-dark outside at the time of our arrival, the waiter brought us a two pictures of the view with Mt. Fuji taken from the restaurant, for us to keep. A nice gesture, we thought. When our order was taken, we were also asked to choose a dessert. I must say that I cannot possibly know before the main dish what dessert I may feel like, or whether I would even want a dessert! We were told we could still choose from the cheese or the cake trolley, but for anything else we would have to make our mind up at the beginning. The reason given for this was the advanced hour, as the kitchen closes at 9 pm. I have some difficulty understanding why a top-class restaurant would close its kitchen at 9, even though they have a second sitting that only starts half an hour before that! As we had already had a pre-dinner drink elsewhere, and given the advanced hour, we decided to skip the aperitif and starter, though some of us opted for a salad. What then followed was an interesting and very elaborate display of salad-making right at our table. It looked like an artful presentation and was fun to watch. But the whole procedure took about half an hour. We would have valued some bread during the wait, but although we saw baskets with bread being served to other tables, we were not offered any. Everything in this restaurant is pricey. So when we saw the huge bowls of salad for each of the 3 of us who had ordered one, it seemed like good value for the money. But only if you are a big eater, which most of us are not; especially my elderly parents. It was very nice then for my dad to be offered to share his salad with my mother, as he wouldn't be able to eat it all by himself anyway. The same offer was not extended to my wife and me, however, although she indicated from the beginning that it was too much for her. So almost half of hers was returned to the kitchen and was going to waste. The bread finally arrived AFTER the salad was eaten. Very good bread indeed, and various kinds. But they didn't seem too generous with it. The main dish took a long time to arrive. Probably over an hour into our stay. I'm all in favour of 'slow food', but the timing altogether seemed a bit off, with all that time being spent on the preparation of the salad, and then another long wait for the main dish. But although we felt that the service could have been better in places, and that we felt we paid too much for what we got, I can say that the food was delicious, and I cannot fault that. This is also why I'm giving this restaurant an overall rating of "Very Good".More
I planned a meal with some friends I haven't seen for a long time. Not being a local and knowing a good Resturant in the area, I decided to opt for the safe option and pay the extra for a hotel Resturant. I arrived a...little early and was left waiting in the lobby, instead if being invited to wait in the bar or being shown to our table. The maître'd was rude and very unhelpful. Another member of staff politely asked if she could take my coat, and I waited for the rest of my party to arrive. Eventually we were taken to our table and we ordered. When the food arrived is nearly cold and the staff rudely interrupted any conversation to explain what we had ordered. At the end of the meal we ordered coffee and continued talking. One of my party asked for a second coffee and was told that unfortunately they couldn't serve us anymore. We thought maybe the Resturant was closing, but people were still being seated. We found out that they had a late booking on our table but hadn't told us, so we were rushed to leave. For the price we paid the service was terrible, rude and the food was reheated not a place I can recommend to anyone. I will not go back again.More
