Came for dinner with my wife We both had the regular tonkatsu. Crispy, juicy bites of wonderfullness. Some pickles, shredded cabbage, miso soup, big bowl of rice, mustard and we were full and happy. Cheap too. Small place, so you'll probably have to wait but...well worth it. Just go and enjoy.More

Thought this might be a nightmare as we had a 10 week old, fairly restless, baby and this little place was really busy and you have to wait on little benches till a stool becomes available but the queue went down really quickly as they...take your order before you sit at the table. As for the food, they do 6 different porks. We tried the standard fillet and the large loin. Both were delicious.More

Recommended by our Free Walking Tour guide, Manaka-san (Tokyo Localised) as one of her favourite places to eat tonkatsu, we tucked away on some lovely tonkatsu after the 3 hour long walk. A small place that can be easily missed while walking by - we...walked into this small place and had to wait for a short while to find some place for 8 of us to sit and have a meal. It was all worth the wait. The tonkatsu was served with radish pickles, clam shell miso soup, punchy mustard mixed with wasabi and rice; along with some shredded cabbage salad. We tried the signature pork loin tonkatsu as well as the fish & prawns ... it was flavourful and filling. The condiments were made just right too. My favourite was the pork loin - all fresh, tender with the right texture and taste. Yes, the Chef can speak in English and the food is made and served right at the counter... and would definitely recommend you to visit the place if you are around the area.More

Authentic tonkatsu place steps from the E9 metro stop, on the way to the Tokyo National Museum. Super clean and they have an English menu. We had regular (pork loin) tonkatsu and added a fried prawn. Probably the best katsu I have had in Japan,...or anywhere! It comes with excellent clam miso soup, shredded cabbage, Kyoto style dark smoky tea (cold in summer), a bowl of rice, white pickles, and of course the usual sauces. The yellow mustard is super hot! They also offer fried horse mackerel, which we did not try. Larger portions of pork are available, but we stuck with the regular size. Note they do not offer chicken. Highly recommended! We would come back.More

We had the best pork fillet cutlets here - they were melt in the mouth. It is a very interesting restaurant and the kids age13 and 15 enjoyed watching the chefs at work and also ate the lot! Thank you!

Very impressed with their approach to efficiency. I got there with my two kids today at 11AM hoping to get in early and avoid taking up valuable seating as I expected to order only two sets to split among the three of us (kids are...4 and 8). But there was a huge line when I got there. So I missed the first wave of seating by 4 people. They took my order while I was in 1 of the 4 seats inside for waiting. They were very polite and had a menu for non-Japanese folks (English, Chinese and Korean it looks like). They gave me the choice of seating afterwards for upstairs (tables) or downstairs with bar. The chefs saw that I had little ones so they separated the mustard and also cut up the pork into smaller than usual pieces. They did not have any issues with my two orders for 3 seats. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. And the line was even longer when we left. Would go again.More

Get there for late lunch. Firstly i was surprised that there was a long queue in front of shop even at 13.30. However, the queue flew very fast. I got table around 14.00. I picked number 3 in menu - special pork loin. After a...few bits, i understand why there is a long queue. Tonkutsu is very tender and miso soup is also good with small clam in it. English translated menu is available.More

I ordered the special pork which I found out later was for very tender pork. They make it as you order so the pork was fresh and tasty. The standout was the sauce which just raised the dish a notch.

Very straightforward place. Wait in line outside, then wait in line inside, then place your order once you're at the front of the line, and sit down at one of 18 seats inside to have your meal. The set meal I had was the large...roast katsu (950 yen), and it includes miso soup, a small salad, and a rather large serving of rice. Fresh katsu, regrettably a little gristly on the sides and could easily have been trimmed better. However overall taste was great. English menu is available upon request, most Japanese people inside just read the menu which is printed on the wall but only in Japanese.More

My brother and I had lunch here. It was a bit hard to find, look for the white hanging flags in front of the door and the long line. Once inside it was well air conditioned for our wait, which we didn’t mind. It’s a...small menu, they have an English version, but just go for the pork cutlet. Its what everyone seemed to get and it was perfect. A very authentic experience. It was like $11 Canadian and too much food for me. Highly recommend.More

Amazing food and great service-especially considering we didn’t speak a lick of Japanese. Kind staff showed us to join the line that was the wall seats while waiting for the next available spaces. We brought me 18 month old and while they were willing offer...her a seat of her own, looked slightly relieved that we understood and wanted to simply hold her on our lap while we ate. They kindly put us in the corner so we could balance my kid against the wall. Food was amazing. I had the mix special with the fish and shrimp in addition to the pork cutlet. It was amazing!!! Would love to go again if we get the chance!More

Just one long counter with a line that quick forms across the back wall and out the door, this local place had an english/chinese menu which helped us pick our fried pork but some fried fish was also on the menu. My wife got the...pork tenderloin and it was one of her favorite meals in Japan as it was very crispy and the meat was delicious. Get here early.More

Good food, all variations on the Tonkatsu theme. Service was v quick, sat on the waiting bench for 30 seconds and then got a place at the bar, where I was quickly offered an English menu and some tea. The order came very swiftly, the...pork was good and came with cabbage, rice and miso. Staff were very friendly and willing to accommodate my lack of Japanese, and it's really cheap for a nice, filling meal. The other customers were locals and tended to be in and out quickly, so it's obviously a good local spot for a quick and reliable meal.More
