Doesnt deserve its rating, had a family lunch last Sat and the food quality was really poor2 of us had Lasagne which was really dry and tasteless, like it had been re heated, 2 had cottage pie and again the same. My 5 yr old...nephew couldnt eat a kids burger it tasted so bad, he liked the chips tho! Service was slow, but the staff are nice, coffee is decent enough.More

We ate here as a large party of 17 , celebrating a birthday. We were in a side room to ourselves. Service was very good and waiters very nice, especially one young girl. Food was mostly very nice except for my husbands steak, it was...very dry and just not great al all. Overall a lovely place.More

We enjoyed a lovely meal here recently. Friendly staff and owner. Nice cocktails with nonalcoholic options. Food was some of the nicest I've had of late. Very tasty and flavoursome. Highly recommend. Prices have gone up but find this to be everywhere. My only suggestion...is re covid compliance and checking of certificates as this was not completed and I personally find this reassuring rather than a hindrance.More

After a long journey from Kilkenny to Limerick, we phoned McEvoys asking did they have a menu with steaks etc, the operator advised that yes they had steaks on menu but the main enclosed eating area was completely booked up and we would need to...seat in the outside area, and if it rained there was nothing they could do ( since Hospitality was just opening up after the 2021 lockdown, we said no problem) Upon arrival and ravenous for some hearty steaks and chips, we were courtly handed a menu with sandwiches, Soup etc. Needless to say we were none too pleased as we had phoned ahead and been “told” by a member of their staff that they had Steaks on the menu. Been shocked I requested I speak to the Manager, to which I was informed that they couldn’t allow us the steak Menu because it might Rain!!!!, but wraps, sandwiches and fish and chips were okay. Nothing short of an absolute disgrace, in this day and age where the hospitality industry is on its knees, with totally unhelpful staff and Management. Everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves. Avoid at all costsMore

An afternoon Sunday at McEvoys was very relaxing and enjoyable. I went for the fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection. Surroundings and decor fabulous. Worth another visit in the near future :)

As our first restaurant experience post Covid lock down we very impressed with McEvoys food & service. Sean and his staff were very welcoming & friendly. They have worked very hard to ensure all government guidelines are being adhered to whilst also ensuring the most...enjoyable fine dining experience. The food & cocktails are just divine. Steak & cooper fries are a must order.More

Have eaten here lots under the previous owners but wanted to see what it was like now it had changed hands. Went with my wife for her birthday and was nervous it wouldn't be the same high standards. Turns out I needed have worried it...was excellent. Delighted because this place is one of my favourites to eat but I always ask for a low table.I hope it continues to do well. food was 10/10 and service the same.More

Took a detour to McEvoys, Abbeyleix on our way from Dublin last week. Great decision. My husband and I had the special of the evening “Roast beef”. One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Delicious and so filling. No room for desserts. Staff were...so friendly. Can’t wait to call again when we have more time and enjoy their scrumptious food and hospitality. Thank you.More
