4 of us had dinner here and would recommend it. If you like fresh seafood this is an ideal place, although they did some nice meat dishes as well, not too fancy, family run and at reasonable prices. We felt very welcome and the service...was good.More
We had lunch here this week, sitting outside as it was a beautiful day. The menu was varied, food fresh and delicious and our server was very welcoming and attentive. Our pup was given water and treats . Dogs are welcome indoors as well as...outside. Great lunch 😋More
Visited The Kames for a couple of evening meals over a short stay. Experience on both occasions was very similar. Perfectly pleasant restaurant with nice views and decent decor. Food was average though - better than pub grub but not deserving of the prices charged....Cullen Skink was tasty, but clearly heated in a microwave, and not well. Venison sausages were good, but the accompaniments were lacking (bland potatoes and frozen veg). Service was far from attentive, pleasant enough waitress/waiter but I just wish they’d been more present - I’d happily have ordered more drinks if we’d been asked. Not awful but definitely room for improvement.More
Great service, great food, great views. What's not to like?! Terrace looks straight over the shoreline and across to Bute. Try the fish and chips or the burger with black pudding. Extensive range of whiskies
I had lunch and dinner with my partner, the burghers were delicious, very meaty with well cooked chunky chips. The scallops with black pudding were very fresh and cooked very well. Mussels as main were tasty and fresh. All meals were accompanied by good local...ales. Service very good and attentive and friendly. Definitely I like to go back!More
Clearly very popular and justifiably so - excellent local seafood and meat; good friendly service. Bar serves well-kept local beer with a decent wine list; dining room looks out over the West Kyle of Bute towards the island with boats moored and heron fishing. A...lovely spot.More
What a brilliant hotel! Stayed here for 4 nights and had a fantastic time! The food was amazing and the view we had from our room was to die for! We certainly would recommend this hotel and hope to come back in the very near...future. Irene and Scott are the perfect hosts!More
