Visited here for dinner on two nights on our recent holiday. Food was excellent with a good choice menu. The food is sourced locally and the provenance displayed in the restaurant. The dining room is bright and welcoming and service was friendly. The restaurant was...busy so probably best to book in advance.More

Some of the best chips we've ever had. The batter on the fish was wonderfully light and crispy. Steak pie was also brilliant as it was a real pie not just a square of pastry.

We had a lovely meal. The steak pie was different but excellent! The service was very friendly and covid secure. They had spare tables but turned customers away due to lack of staff due to covid isolation. This is a sign of a good place,...serve those you can well and don't try to cash in and have a poor service. Worth a vsit.More

Stopped in for Cullen Skink absolutely lovely but expensive for the portion size. Beautiful views when sitting outside

4 of us had dinner here and would recommend it. If you like fresh seafood this is an ideal place, although they did some nice meat dishes as well, not too fancy, family run and at reasonable prices. We felt very welcome and the service...was good.More

We had lunch here this week, sitting outside as it was a beautiful day. The menu was varied, food fresh and delicious and our server was very welcoming and attentive. Our pup was given water and treats . Dogs are welcome indoors as well as...outside. Great lunch 😋More

Visited The Kames for a couple of evening meals over a short stay. Experience on both occasions was very similar. Perfectly pleasant restaurant with nice views and decent decor. Food was average though - better than pub grub but not deserving of the prices charged....Cullen Skink was tasty, but clearly heated in a microwave, and not well. Venison sausages were good, but the accompaniments were lacking (bland potatoes and frozen veg). Service was far from attentive, pleasant enough waitress/waiter but I just wish they’d been more present - I’d happily have ordered more drinks if we’d been asked. Not awful but definitely room for improvement.More

Great service, great food, great views. What's not to like?! Terrace looks straight over the shoreline and across to Bute. Try the fish and chips or the burger with black pudding. Extensive range of whiskies

I had lunch and dinner with my partner, the burghers were delicious, very meaty with well cooked chunky chips. The scallops with black pudding were very fresh and cooked very well. Mussels as main were tasty and fresh. All meals were accompanied by good local...ales. Service very good and attentive and friendly. Definitely I like to go back!More
