Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We found this pub on Britstops. The entrance was very tight but we managed to get our campervan through ok. There was a large flat quiet area to park with toilets and showers which was a nice surprise. We popped in for a meal in the...evening and found the locals very friendly and welcoming. We had a meal which was basic good value pub food, freshly cooked and not a long wait. We found it very conveneient for Tintagel only a short drive away and decided to return for a 2nd night. I would definitely return again and would recommend.More

We came here for the free camping in the small field at the back so maybe we should not whinge. Initially we booked in for two nights but having tried their evening menu we only stayed the one. We found the landlord unwelcoming and having...spoke to a local, heard that the village hopes to buy the pub so hopefully things will change soon. The food was fair priced but disappointing.More

Great campervan stop over site with useful facilities. Had a meal in the pub, which was good valve and nice. Friendly staff and landlord. There was an impromptu guitar jam session which was really good and created a lovely atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend staying here...and we will definitely be coming back again.More

I’ve given this place 3 stars to symbolise the 3 and only 3 items they had on their menu. Having booked 3 months ago for 7 people we arrived in anticipation having seen the plentiful of options reflecting on the TA page . Having been...set down the menu came after we order drinks however we noticed there were only 3 options for main courses . 1 - mince balls 2- mince chilli 3 - mince beef We cancelled the drinks and left politely noting we expected more than 3 items on the menu as most people would . Rather disappointing having booked 3 months back. I’m sure the mince in this place was very nice but we didn’t stop to find out.More

A lovely, community inspired pub. You can stay at the rear with your Motorhome for free. However the entrance is tight. There is a farm shop and a local store opposite. Though the menu maybe small and may not suit all, the welcoming service and...atmosphere you just can’t put a price on. While we stayed we were lucky to have a good serenade by three mature gentleman guitars and all, raising money for the Cornish Air Ambulance. Just amazing 🤩 Please visit and enjoy if not a meal some drinks and the atmosphere 🥰More

I stayed for a couple of nights in a small tent. The area was well kept. The hot shower and toilet were a welcome surprise. A lovely little honesty shop, or a spat across the road. I had breakfast both mornings, which were delicious and...very reasonable. Staff were very knowledgeable of the area and happy to share. If in the area, I will revisit.More

What a find! We were staying local and we wanted something to eat. I sent an email to book - I got a prompt reply. Plenty of space to park. We had booked for 3 and our dog - we picked a large table in...the window - we had plenty of space, there was other couples and there dogs eating. We had a very attentive bar person who gave a great overview of the menu. We had Tapas and traditional Meat and Potatoe Pie and chips - then we had homemade Sticky Toffee Pudding and Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Custard - absolutely delicious food. We enjoyed the cosy dog friendly atmosphere - truly a Gem of a local pub - we all need to support this establishment- we will return soon !!!More
