On Jan4, we enjoyed an absolutely top-level 4 course dinner spiced with super friendly, cosy and nicely timed service. Definitely a place to visit!

It's such a shame. The food is really really good but you have to wait so long for the food, it can 45 minutes for a starter, same again for the main and you lose the will for the dessert, that it spoils the whole...experience. The waitresses are lovely and you feel mean asking several times where the food is especially if a hungry child is waiting. Upstairs is terrible and dark and you are even more forgotten. Downstairs is better but the food is still abysmally slow. Lovely restaurant let down by the kitchen.More

We enjoyed our Christmas dinner on 24th Dec here and loved it. Very nice service, great food. They have gluten free options & GF bread and are very helpful.

The Vaisko is a small restaurant and a reservation is essential unless you are dining their as part of a tour schedule. The menu selection is good and caters for most tastes - but I would suggestr being adventurous and trying out some of the...local Finnish cuisine. Reindeer is offered in various guises ranging from Tartare (fantastic !!!) through the steaks, stew and burgers. There are also local fish dishes to chose from. A more conventional menu selection is available for children - no mention of Rudolf on their menu ;o} Alcohol prices are high compared to the UK - but this is the norm in Scandinavian countries. To finish there is a great selection of deserts. Shame that the cheese selection does not have a more local selection. The blueberry sorbet is definitely a must. Will definitely return if visiting the Luosto region in the future.More

we visited this cafe (can't call it a restaurant) when on a trip with canterbury travel one meal available mash and meatballs which was totally bland with a rubber muffin to finnish. If this is representative of their epicurean delights then don't bother

We opted to eat here as an upgrade on a Canterbury Travels trip, the menu is limited and as a party of 4 adults we had quickly sampled all the options. The food is fab though, lots of reindeer ( as can be expected) cooking...or uncooked in a variety of ways. We had a different table every night and generally different waiting staff, all were superb with excellent English and a great sense of fun & humour. Its a very busy restaurant so booking is essential to guarantee your chosed time of eating, child friendly options were available. Though for veggie, its 2 options on the main course.More
