We stopped off in Roundwood after walking nearby and having read reviews online of the Coach House, we called in for some food. This was the first time experiencing indoor dining so we were a tad cautious.
We were greeted and asked for our Vaccination...record and photo ID which were we were happy to show. Neither of us eat meat so I ordered the Fish and Chips and my partner the Halloumi Burger. Both portions were large, really tasty and presented well. Staff were eager to please and checked on us often. All staff were wearing masks so I wore mine put of respect, when I wasnt eating. Tables were spaced out and our section we had to ourselves.
We'd highly recommend this restaurant. After leaving and a couple of hours later, we found my husband had left his wallet behind. A quick phonecall and thankfully it was still there.
Definately recommend and would certainly go back.More
Passing through Roundwood so popped in as only food vendor open due to Covid 19. Ordered bacon & cabbage, Soup & ham sandwich. Staff were very good & up to speed on Covid measures but food was a dissapointment. Soup was on par. Sandwich was...off the shelf sliced pan with slabs of cold ham. Ham felt it was yesterdays left overs. Thinly sliced ham would have been much better and any Marks & Spencer sandwich would be an improvement. Bacon and cabbage was dissapointing - slabs of bacon, white sauce & cabbage. In my view sauce should be seperate and added if the consumer wants it. Glass of milk was warm. A group of loud ladies with their offspring scoffing fried food did not assist in the overall atmosphere which felt like being trapped on a car ferry. Again - staff were nice but I felt I threw €27 in the bin for what I got out of it.More
Joined a small group for lunch on 2 occasions. Service was fine but the quality of the food was not, with only one person being happy both visits. The fish was poor, the beef & Guiness casserole was almost devoid of beef and the salad...looked as though it had a sad life. I accept it is difficult to offer quality lunches when business is quiet but perhaps a shorter menu could be tried.More
Dropped in for lunch, intended to just have a soup and sandwiches, but as we passed by tables the food really looked great and appetizing, so decided to have the fish and chips plus their burger.
What a disappointment I could not compare it to...the lovely fresh fish I get I'm either Donegal or even Sligo
The burger was also poor.
Should have stuck to the sandwiches.More
We stopped tonight for dinner, the staff was very friendly and the food excellent. I tried the fish and chips plus sauted mushrooms and my friend had an hamburger with fries and both dishes were delicious!
When we asked for the bill they brought us...some candies too :)
Very nice place, recommend!More
