Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ate here on a couple of occasions, once in the restaurant and the second time in the back bar. Both occasions were really good. The quality of the food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. The menu choices are good and cater...for a wide range of palates. It is worth seeking out.More

We recently had lunch at the Ballymore Inn and it was disappointing. Whereas the food used to be top-notch, it is now, at best, average. This would be perhaps forgivable if it was priced accordingly, but it is not .... €25.00 for fish & chips...of pub-food quality and €8.50 for desserts renders it massively overpriced for what it now is... €100 for a lunch for two. No wonder the place was practically empty when we dined, whereas it was always full pre-Covid. It obviously is no longer catering for locals. The service is still great though, but we would be loath to return until I see some good reviews.More

Ordered Chinese noodles and the noodles arrived uncooked and uneatable. When I said to the wait staff they were unwilling to do anything about it. Was charged €20 for food I couldn’t eat. It use to be one of my favourite restaurants but now the...prices have risen but the standard has severely lowered.More

Over rated food for the price , would not go back . Heard a lot of hype about this place so decided to give it a try . Glorified pub grub .

I have waiting to visit this restaurant for two years but some silly pandemic interfered! I am always stunned by the newspaper food critics lack of adventure in that they rarely , if ever, venture outside the confines of the M50. Their loss I'm afraid....Went for a sneaky lunch visit last week and had wonderful food and service. Perhaps a little pricey but I felt the quality deserved the extra coin. Definitely worth a return match.More

Wow what a lovely place to eat at on our holiday. The food was cooked to perfection especially the fish and the squid rings that my husband had. My daughter had the children's fish and chips and she loved it too. They also had vegan...options so I had the green curry that was also beautifully cooked and then the vegan pizza another night as we went twice it was that good. The staff are lovely too with great customer service. We hope to go here again when we next visit Ireland 🙂More

What a disappointment start to finish . Seated in the back bar beside the kitchen doors that squeeked loudly everytime a staff member came through them . The waitress continously asked us to order , take away dishes etc it all felt very rushed with...no one else in there and with a very reduced menu the only options for either of us was green curry which was bland. the dessert was bland the service was horrendous and the prices were - over priced. Have been here on a number of occasions and this is not the Ballymore Inn I knowMore

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 15 years . My most recent visit was extremely disappointing . The welcome was non existent , we booked for indoors but seeing tables vacant outside asked could we have them but seemingly were already booked but...we were never offered tables outside in the back which were available. The menu is way over priced for what is presented in my view . I am a fish person and so value that on a menu .. every fish dish is from Duncannon which is a village in my home county .. I have always valued that . Ballymore Inn need to take stock .. Covid 19 has effected every restaurant but this one is taking advantage in my view and not value for money . Monkfish at 39 euro is way too much for a 5pm table booking . Very very disappointing , average foodMore

I chose the Ballymore Inn for my first lunchtime dining experience post covid. We were not disappointed. We were seated outside, and the waiter had the wall heaters on-just in case we were cold. The food was excellent: I had Duncannon fish and chips, served...on pea puree and tartare sauce, while M had the burger with all the trimmings. We intended to have a dessert, but as we had been served two different types of bread with a delicious dip to eat as we studied the menu, we couldn't manage anything else! The Inn has gone to a lot of trouble to ensure our safety and I'll be back again soon.More
