I've been to the Ballymore Inn a dozen times but yesterday I went with my family who were visiting. Every time I'm impressed. Yesterday was no exception, the service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I wanted to call out the chicken and sweetcorn soup...they had on as a starter. I don't think I've ever tasted a soup as good. I hope they make it a regular. You're guaranteed excellent food in lovely surroundings here. They also have a cute pantry where I picked up some bits for dinner at home today :) The only call out, they usually serve a delicious fennel oil with their bread basket and they didnt yesterday due to Covid. Maybe they could serve in a lidded container or something? Whatever is safest.More

We have been supporters of the Ballymore Inn for some twenty years. Recent visits have been in the context of Covid-19 restrictions and regrettably the food standards appear to have taken a downward turn ,particularly in the context of portion size, quality, price and value. Our...steaks from West Cork appeared in minutes and were unacceptably thin -for 28 euro. We declined to have starters as the average price was about 13/14 Euro. Some chairs and furniture appear to be past their best- arms missing,no cushions etc. One wonders why the meat is being sourced from West Cork, producer not identified on the menu, with excellent butchers in the Kildare area. Time for the O'Sullivans to reconsider how they are treating their customers-if they wish to retain their loyalty, they owe it to them and their very fine staff.More

Had a lovely family lunch here in the last few days. Great to have it reopened. Food as good as ever but prices gone off the radar. understand that some tables had to be removed to follow covid guidelines but €21.25 too expensive for a...main course at lunchtime. it just means customers will not be able to visit very often. a pity.More

We have visited the Ballymore inn a number of times and have found it mostly enjoyable. however our most recent visit was rushed. When we arrived the waitress looked disappointed that we had arrived for dinner. Menus were rushed out, Drinks and also the food...was rushed to us. When we asked for time before desert, waitress kept circling around until we finally said we were ready. No music was playing. no Atmosphere, couldnt wait for us to leaveMore

We loved this restaurant. Welcoming fire on arrival, very comfortable setting. Lots of choice on menu. I had salmon, my friends had cod. Really delicious. The desserts were also very good. Friendly service. We will return!

Gorgeous homemade food - from the homemade bread and pesto given to everyone prior to their meal , to the decadent champ mash potato and homemade ice cream - delicious. The food is top class and worth the prices . Everyone was really pleased with...their meals (30 of us dined for a family birthday) including a baby who was provided a free baby bowl and children’s menu to choose from. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend .More

Very overpriced for average fare with badly managed service waiting for food delivered by one server while four other staff walked around apparently unoccupied. 99 euro for 3 people with 2 starters 3 mains and no deserts and 1 glass of bad wine 2 coffees...and 1 tea. The cheapest starter was the soup all other starters averaged 13 euro. I traveled an hour and a half from Kilkenny. Sadly I will not be returning or recommending.More

Living locally the Ballymore inn the the best food around by a country mile. We regularly eat in the back bar (at least once a month) with our young children who they have a great menu for. They also cater really well for vegetarians which...my wife is. Waitering staff are always so nice and a credit to the business. My only complaint is the never ever changing menu. Please please Ballymore inn, make some changes to the menu or add a roast on a weekend day. The daily specials are not menu changes as sometimes they’re just a variation of what’s on the menuMore
