Even on a busy Easter weekend the speed of service was still good, mainly because the concept is good with guests cleaning up their fish and chip packets into bins. There is a wide range of seafood at reasonable prices, and the ambiance and view is superb. Really pleased we stopped for lunch here

We were looking forward to our meal here having read about it in a magazine. We were a bit disappointed. Overcooked fish, chewy mussels. The setting is 5* but the food was average and nothing compared to fish and chips at home.

Absolutely Delicious, yes it is on the pricey side but for anything this fresh you do pay more! Remember other fish and chip shops use mostly frozen stock which is why they are cheap. This is an awesome place to visit with a beautiful setting on the water. Keep it up guys!

This fish and chip store set right over the water has lots of indoor seating or you can take your meal away. There is a great selection of seafood and options to cook up fresh seafood - i,e snapper if caught on the day which was sensational to eat with nice chips also, (you can choose your fillet of fish... Fish was fresh and tasty - excellant Ate Tarakihi. Chips ok. Chowder very good. Mussels average. Coffees purchased separately were overpriced and BAD. Rooky mistake Buy fish from fish shop and coffees from a cafe!

I decided to ignore the previous negative reviews and went here. Not only is it very expensive for what you get but to serve seafood chowder in a paper cup is very disappointing. All cutlery and serving dishes are either plastic or paper. Also went for the salt and pepper calamari as was recommended this by staff as the most... More

We used to come here most times we were in Mangonui but now find it too expensive! The fish is excellent and beautifully cooked, so no complaints there, but it has become too touristy and they now charge too much, I think! Whilst Hapuka is a gorgeous fish, at $8.90 per piece, it is overpriced! It's a shame, so although... More

We went expecting something very special, but the fish and chips was average at best, the service brusque and unhelpful. One of our party can't eat gluten (but isn't coeliac), when asked for a piece of fish without batter, the answer was a sharp No, we don't have the equipment. Most unhelpful, our local chippie is so much better!
