We like to spend time wandering around the Rheged centre, so in between shops and exhibitions, we had lunch. Colonel Waffle has a lamb burger with chips and I had the puy lentil scotch egg, all very tasty and beautifully presented. I took off one...More

We only had soup but it was tasty enough and came with a doorstopper of sour dough bread. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. When someone puts there name to a restaurant/cafe however, you expect something a bit better than average. It isn't.

After quite an enjoyable day around Rheged we decided to eat at this,"restaurant". The problem is that this place thinks it's more than what it is. This is shown in the prices and the "celebrity chef" status of the head "chef". We do feel that...More

Quite frankly I was shocked. I didnt go with high expectations. We went with the expectation that the cafe would match the experience of Reghed / Tebay. The place looked disheveled/ a bit of a hotch potch We had to wait an age to attract...More

very limited lunch options and almost non-existent veggie meals. Poor service and expensive - would be better going to Burger King just down the road :(

We first looked at the menu of the restaurant but it was more than we wanted, moved over to The Deli Counter. Service poor, atmosphere poor, smelt of burnt food, the positive note is the two lunches we had were very nice but nothing else...More

Fantastic to find somewhere with which good food in such a convenient location. I'm going to stopping here regularly. It was busy but they found space for us. Staff were really helpful and the food was delicious - smoked haddock hash was delicious.

The best breakfast I have ever had. Didn't have long to wait for it and it was all local produce. Even the sauce was made in Cumbria. The staff were very pleasant and well informed about the food. Will return soon.
