Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself and a colleague heard of Tony's whilst working in the NUIG campus where food is awful. From the moment we stepped in the door..well, the decor, the welcome, not to mention the food was first class with the pan fried fish as good as any ive ever had.
Do yourself and friends a favour, drop in to Tony,s diner and be amazed..Class act and we'l be back,
Martin & Tom from Tipperary.

We were driving to clifden and came across this place. We decided to pop in for something to eat. I wasn't overly impressed when I walked through the door. I was so wrong. The staff were down to earth and very helpful, the food was lovely. I would highly recommend

Visiting on family matters, the whole family starving, we held out for Tony’s Grill Diner, bypassing all the usual fast food outlets.
Tony’s Place is a local icon servicing local food at its best. I had the home made soup which was lovely, my grandson wolfed down the cod and chips. Plus a welcoming cup of tea: what could be more inviting.
Thanks for the lovely food, ambience and welcome.

The paper caught on fire at the table next to us. The food is great but a bit overpriced. The staff are great if a bit all over the place. The service was very slow. It took 20 mins for a jug of water and a can of Diet Coke.

Stopped here for breakfast on the way to Galway--convenient parking across the street. Recommend this restaurant if you like a filling morning grill. The veggie choice had fried eggs, hash browns, grilled tomato, onion rings, mushrooms, chips, beans and came with toast and tea for 9€! Other breakfast choices had lots of options -rashers, sausages etc. Friendly, quick service.

Food here is great...lovely clean and crisp fry...eggs done exactly how you like them. Excellent service...attentive but not intrusive. Great attention to detail..IEPS someone wanted a blt..no mayo..no cheese...on brown....no problem.
Chips are really good...try them with seasoning!
Finally...the jewel in the crown is the fish and chips...best I've ever had.
Great little diner..great prices...we'll worth a visit.

I always like to come here for breakfast. This morning I had the mini breakfast. It arrived to the table piping hot, a nice pot of tea and brown soda bread. The staff are pleasant and get the job done. I was given a newspaper to read through while I waited for my breakfast. I didn't have to wait long and it was great to put away the paper and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily chores. Music selection very nice. I love coming here. The breakfasts are consistently good and offer a great range and also options for vegetarians. I love to come here. Thank you. I'm tanked up now for the day.

BLT and The Gringo cooked to perfection. Lots of food, served pretty quick. American Hollywood themed. Funny quirky signs all around too.

Where do I even start? Just wow. I just cannot get over the shockingly good experience of this restaurant. I had never heard of it in my life. I was in Moycullen only to have a guitar amp of mine repaired by a local audio specialist. The repair man mentioned an American style diner in town to have my lunch in. I am an extraordinarily fussy person when it comes to food. I would normally expect an American style diner to be "ok" at best. Nothing special, but nothing awful. Well Tony's is different. They seem to hand todays newspaper to everybody to read while waiting for their food. I've never seen any restaurant do this. Its a whole lot better than sitting there counting every second until the food comes out. What a nice little touch.
The restaurant its self has a real homely feel to it. Its not ultra sleek modern like some McDonalds or something. You can tell it wasn't designed by some fruity designer who goes for form over function. You can tell that it was put together by a normal person the way they wanted it. Its just real and down to earth.
Now, enough teasing. Lets get down to the brass tax. The food. Its not an overly complicated menu with 500 different items. Its got what you need. I honestly didn't spend too much time looking at it as my eyes were drawn to the first Burger on the menu.
I can't recall the name, but it was top of the list. That Burger. 8oz (2 patties), real cheese, bacon and Taco sauce. I opted to leave out the optional lettuce, tomato and onion. The cheese was delicious and the proper amount. Not too much, not too little. Just perfect. The burger patties were cooked perfectly and were 10 times more flavourful than any fast food restaurant. The Taco sauce was delicious. The bun was fabulous, although I'd love to try it with a Brioche bun (but thats just me being in love with Brioche buns and wanting to use them for everything. The actual bun was still the best regular bun I've ever had). The Bacon. Oh boy. That bacon. Cooked to perfection. Crispy, but not crunchy and certainly not soggy. It was perfection. Whoever cooked that bacon deserves double pay. The burger was assembled perfectly. It was assembled in a way that I would. It was done in a way as the conserve ingredients. It was done as if they were making it for themselves. No holding back. They tool the time to put cheese on in the middle of the two patties as well as on top of the top one. Not only that, but they did it with the bacon too! Double bacon layers! Its the little things that show that they are passionate about making good food and not just ticking the items on the ingredients list. It was assembled with thought. Oh, and lest I forget the 5-6 onion rings that were sitting on top of the burger around a Skewer. I'm normally someone who dislikes onions, but these were rather nice. The batter was nice an crispy while the onion inside was cooked enough to be soft and lose that edge that I dislike about onions. The chips/fries were just right too. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
I didn't want to say it, because I'm very VERY hard to please, but that really was the nicest burger I've ever had. That really is saying something. I am incredibly fussy about things.
My one and only complaint is a huge one though. I live too far away to come here more often! I guess I'm going to have to come up with some excuses to come to Moycullen more often!

Hello JamesGuitar95,
WOW !!! straight back at you, what can I say but THANKS, it is gratifying to know that I haven`t lost the plot and that little things DO matter. You are right, ever single meal produced in my restaurant is scrutinised time and again to try to maintain or improve the ingredients and presentation. My wife and I treat the restaurant like our home and our guests are our friends, we spend a lot of time preaching a WARM WELCOME THEORY to all our staff so we are delighted with your review on all aspects and thank you sincerely for making our job easier. Each new member of staff will be handed your review to get our theory across.
Thank you for taking the time to review us and if you are in Moycullen again please make yourself known to us.
