We have been here 5 or 6 times for food and are never ever disappointed. Stunning food at great prices, we can't fault it. Sunday lunches are amazing but this time it was a Saturday lunch. We had to have a walk round Tissington afterwards...to work some off! It's a 45 minute drive from home but never ever disappoints. We will be back again soon. Flippin lovely ❤More

Got in for 4:15 on Sunday for their famous Sunday Roast and yet again superb. 2 beef dinners, a pork roast and a chicken dinner. All meats were superbly cooked and the accompanying veg selection and mash potatoes were clearly home cooked and made fresh...for each table. We had to wait 30 minutes for our meal but that shows how each set of meals are cooked fresh. It has to be one of Derbyshires finest Sunday roasts and we are already planning our next family trip there. The final piece of the jigsaw is that our dog is allowed in the dining area so we get to all go for a nice walk around the village and then enjoy a lovely family meal with our Westie. Wow! Just wow! The atmosphere and the food is amazing! I had the sycamore burger one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten, Highly recommend this place for a nice selection of real ales also.

I go walking with work colleagues in the Peak District. I always insist on a pub lunch. This is my 4th such walk. I had the Cod Munro. It was absolutely lovely. High quality dining at a great price. The fish was lovely and flakey....The combination of vegetables and sauce was just magic. It is the best lunch time meal I have had out in many years. There is also a lovely Bassett Hound on the premises who also checks that you are having a great time. Just a great all round experience.More

Met friends here as a base for a walk so had no expectations about food. Although the menu was almost standard "pub grub" it was prepared to a high standard and very enjoyable. The waitress who also ran the bar was very pleasant and helpful.

Nowhere better for lunch after a walk. Every dish excellent. Very generous Fish and chips with light batter good chips and mushy peas, Cod Mornay perfectly cooked with a light cheese sauce excellent. Lamb tender and with a dense jus, lovely sweet potato roasts. The...side order of vegetables a big portion of absolutely faultless cabbage, chantenay carrots and peas. Sticky toffee pudding and syrup sponge light and again perfect in execution. All portions are massive. In fact they could easily reduce by 20% and it still be a good helping. Keep your Michelin pieces of art. Come here and have proper food properly cooked.More
