I have visited La Petit Ravine a few times but always in summer as we usually ski on the other side of the valley. It is a wonderful little spot to enjoy a reasonably priced lunch on a sunny day. Part of its charm is that it is so tiny but for that reason I would definitely advise booking in... More

If you're skiing on the pistes accessed by the Jaillet cable car, this sweet, friendly family place is the most convivial place to head for beginner skiers who can only manage green slopes. The Euro18 per person fondue was enormous, wine is Euro8.30 per half litre and the views across to the Mont Blanc massif are superb. Wise to book... More

I've skied over 25 times in the Alps, during the last 10 years. Usually I lunch at restaurants on the slopes, what means that I know a good number of them in the area. On a cloudy day, we sat inside for lunch and enjoyed simple, rustic fare. When we wanted to return the next day, there was an hour-long queue. The owner kindly sent us down the road to the Coeur in Combloux. The view is stunning. Excellent home-made desserts. To be avoided by all dieters!

We always call ahead and reserve because it fills up fast, especially on marginal weather when people prefer to eat inside. It is an easy destination on snowshoes and makes a perfect goal. The food is tasty - I love their omelettes. They are friendly and welcoming. And for an "on-the-slopes" restaurant, their prices are very reasonable. For downhill skiers,... More

Great meeting point for groups doing different sports, easy to get to and find. Their cakes and tarts are especially good
