Though not an extensive menu - the food was excellent. Prompt and polite service - 4 kids thrown into the mix and all in all a great meal. Thank you

La Cave is a Restaurant we return to time after time. The Menu is not vast but what it contains is very well prepared and promptly served. Its also remarkable value for money. Don't forgo the deserts -- one of the best Creme Brulee's I've tasted. (It pays to book, as the local professionals come in significant numbers for lunch... More

Three of us had lunch here yesterday, having arrived on the steam train excursion from Limoges along with a horde of others. We booked a table, so were seated at once, and what followed was an outstanding example of high skill and deft management of customers. Although many people arrived at once, and almost filled the restaurant, everyone was served... More

This is a great restaurant. We had lunch last week when on a steam train (Vapeur) excursion from Limoges. Great fun. Eymoutiers is an attractive town to while away a few hours either over a meal or in the park by the river - or preferably both. The service was a bit slow, I guess, but we weren't in any... More

We were staying in nearby Bujaleuf and visited Le Cave several times for evening meals. The staff initially were a little brusque but did warm over the course of the week. Good was plentiful and very tasty. Our girls particularly enjoyed the burgers and ice cream deserts. Good value for money and very nice location.

Stopped by for a croque monsieur and a cheese tapas. Received a charcuterie tapas much to the annoyance of the mature waitress when I asked it for it to be replaced. It duly arrived followed by a petulant slap of the bread bucket on the table. Asked another waitress for the bill which never materialised then went to the desk... More

We came here for lunch when we took the tourist steam train from Limoges which decants 250 people into the small town of Eymoutiers at 12.30! On advice we had booked, which was just as well! As a result, probably very sensibly, they did not have the full menu (shame). However, the food was good. Husband had a good steak... More

Food and service excellent. The restaurant is very modern and chic however the bright lighting does reduce the ambiance a little. More subdued lighting and maybe a few candles on the tables would be a nice touch. Main courses and puddings are amazing though! Highly recommend the chocolate cake.

We live close to La Cave and loved it when it was on a smaller scale in the village of Rempnat, but having visited the new restaurant on several occasions, our last two visits were a real disappointment. Claire the owner and 'front of house' was very busy, service was slow and on our last but one visit she nearly... More
