Booked a table for lunch though it was quiet when we arrived. Given a warm welcome by the landlord and when asked about the cider on offer was offered a sample before ordering. Good choice of ales and cider. Extensive wine list at reasonable cost. Main menu and lunchtime snack menu offered , wide choice to suit all tastes and... More

I booked for a family meal with relatives coming from Hampshire and no one was disappointed. The menu was limited, which was a pleasure to see giving us all confidence in good quality cooked food being served to us. The 5 of us had various different starters and mains all cooked beautifully and with great passion. I cannot recommend this... More

Busy Sunday lunchtime . Great atmosphere. Big family get together to mark a string of birthdays. They did well. And the roasts were very good. Great beers as well.

On our way home we needed lunch. Fortunately there's a brown sign on the A37 directing us to a 'knife and fork' which turned out to be the Chetnole Inn. What a great place! Proper old and beamed but great 'modern' menu. Not pub food. A little disappointed with the gents wc which could have been cleaner. Staff were friendly... More

The Chetnole Inn is a small pub in a quiet village, that served us with great food over a very enjoyable three night stay. Even though the menu wasn't that long, I still left wishing I'd had another evening to try more dishes. Local ingredients, good portions, well presented and all good quality. Breakfasts were just as good (everything was... More

This is a great pub with a chef who obviously understands good food. A good sign is a relatively short menu but all the ingredients were top notch and really well cooked. So few pubs reach this standard of simple quality with excellent ingredients. We're definitely going to make this a regular stop.

Very small and cosy with a country hamlet feel. Good food and fantastic hosts who make you feel instantly welcome. A real gem.

We've always had a warm welcome at the Chetnole Inn, the ales are always perfect, and the food delicious, especially their burgers, which are awesome! A lovely village, and a delight to wander around.

Love coming here - whether for just a few beers, lunch or dinner. We visit at least four or five times a year . There is always a warm and friendly welcome, a good menu to choose from, high quality food and well kept real ales. Always a very safe bet if friends are coming to stay and we are... More

Our first ever visit. We arrived without a booking and were made to feel very welcome by a pleasant and friendly landlady. An excellent choice on the menu - we went for the traditional Sunday roast and were served an excellent meal. Major problem with the desert menu - which one of several super sounding deserts to have!! Settled for... More
