This was the only place open for lunch that day and we felt lucky to have found it. It's got a gallery, extensive gardens with very nice planting and a lovely cafe with great food. Very relaxing and welcoming, good food and pleasant atmosphere. Some...tables are under shelter so would even do on a wet day!More
Friendly service in a pleasant location. Sat outside in warm spring weather and enjoyed the garden. A good selection of cakes, together with beverages served to your table. A nice detour on the way to Sheep's Head.
Taken by friends to this charming little cafe surrounded by a delightful garden. Plenty of outside seating spaces some under cover. Tasty food and refreshing coffee. Prompt and friendly service. Added bonus the gallery.
This hidden, unique, garden cafe includes a wildflower nature garden with a water-pond that will lift your spirits and if you let it.......speak to your soul. ! From the dried flower arrangements, seed packets and driftwood sculptures in the garden shop to the nature-walk up...the hill for a spectacular view of Dunmanus bay, this ‘find’ will not disappoint. The cafe treats are both nutritious and delicious and also maybe spend a little time admiring the owner’s (Annabel Langrish) amazing artistic creations in the her gallery.More
I was in Cork on staycation and this was one of my "must dos" while there! I'm a fan of Annabel's art, so I loved browsing in the shop/gallery. We paid extra to explore the garden, which was much more extensive than I thought -...you can really see where Annabel gets her inspiration for her art. There were loads of dragonflies around the pond and we had a great time trying to photograph them! I loved the potbelly pigs too. The flowers were beautiful and attracted so many bees. There's also a little hill to walk up with a lovely view. There's a shop in the garden too, so I bought some flower seeds and a large bright umbrella (I'd been looking everywhere for a nice one for our upcoming wedding, in case it rains on the day!). We had already eaten lunch earlier in the day, but couldn't resist a sweet treat from the cafe. There's a lovely courtyard with plenty of tables. Highly recommend!More
Spent a wonderful afternoon here. Started with delicious food, all local produce and wonderful desserts. Followed up with a tour of the garden. The colours are amazing at this time of year. A visit to the shop to purchase some of Annabel's art ended a...great visit. Highly recommend.More
We found this place three years ago and fell in love. So this time we bought all the kids along with us. The food here is so tasty, fresh and I think alot of it comes from the garden/ sourced locally. It's not only the food...that impressed...wait until you see the beautiful garden and ponds. It's a great spot to leave the kids run around whilst you grab some lunch or a coffee. We will be back for sure on our next holiday.More
We visited this cafe twice on a recent trip to Ahakista and really enjoyed it both times. We have 2 toddlers and enjoyed good coffee, yummy fresh cake and paninis. Ideal for lunch. The garden walk with some resident pigs and beautiful scenery was a...big hit with the kids. Reliable and pleasant. Staff really nice too.More
Thanks for your review - we feel so lucky to live here and happy to share !
Home baking at it's best, wonderful tasty cakes and excellent coffee. The staff are so helpful and friendly, highly recommend a visit.
We have bought a few pieces by the artist at craft fairs and wanted to visit her gallery. Minimalist and brilliant, less is more approach to pieces on show Lovely gardens and coffee shop and staff Of course I bought!
This is a wonderful place in a beautiful location. Bright and friendly. Lovely tasty food and amazing garden out the back to enjoy after lunch.
Wonderful place, wholefood lunch and delicious cake and coffee. Luckily we ventured out the back and will always treasure the memory of this ‘adventure’ ( our 5 year old ) from wildflower pathways to the pot bellied pigs. A treat for the senses and a...work of passion I’m sure. The owner is a beautiful painter too. Her work is on show in the cafe.More
Beautiful, tasty well presented food, very reasonable, friendly staff, wonderful setting because the weather was warm and sunny we could sit out and enjoy the garden , after eating we strolled around the gardens
had a late lunch here today on a very sunny day and it was bliss to sit and eat in the garden. the food was so fresh and tasty with salads grown on site. Dessert was a chocolate pear tart and was divine, the carrot...and apple cake also went down well. after lunch it was time to explore the never ending gardens - well worth the time to climb the wild walk. the gallery contains some lovely pieces for a spot of afternoon browsing Ahakista itself is very scenic and all in all well worth the trip - even for the Heron Gallery alone. pure treat!!More
