Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On a recent stay in Louisburgh in Mayo, we ate out twice in The Derrylahan. The food and service was excellent and we both really enjoyed both nights. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Stopped by for a quick bite over the weekend, and had the best seafood chowder ever! And that's a heavy claim to make.

Would have given higher only for trouble with the order. We ordered Fish & chips and there was a delay on it coming out. Then we were told the gas had gone in the kitchen and we could only have a roast dish. We accepted...as accidents & breakdowns happen. We thought that we may have been given a discount or a drink taken off the bill as a result. Still charged the full amount. In saying this the staff could not have been more friendly & apologetic over the incident.More

Enjoyed a lovely family meal here. Booking is advised as Covid restrictions in place with perspex screens between tables and so availability is limited. Food very good, good selection for fussy eaters. Friendly service. Recommended.

A party of four of us had an evening meal, all delicious, especially the fish pie. We had great service from the very friendly and helpful waitress from Alaska USA. Will definitely be back.

Stopped at the Derrylahan today. Great service, good staff and excellent food. Was a bit wary with a change of ownership, but worth the visit!! Recommended!!

Went here a few times on our trip, and their food is brilliant. I had the goats cheese bonbon's starter and tortellini for main, and honestly, I wish I could have it right now. Absolutely mouth watering! The fig jam with the goats cheese aent...really well and I finished it before the rest of the table had finished their starters, it was just that tasty haha! Staff are all very friendly, and it has a smoking area out back. Definitely recommend.More

Great seafood chowder, disappointing fish and chips. The Derrylahan has been around for years and will always be popular. Good, not always the best, pub food.

On a wet Sunday while on a holiday in Mayo we called in for a meal. I had fish and chips, herself had pasta. Chowder and vegetable soup for starters. It was grand. Service was prompt and friendly. That Shane Lowry won the Open while...we were there put us in a good mood.More

A large group of us visited after climbing nearby Mweelrea mountain. The place is very well kept, and very welcoming. We had a large order of food which was delivered very quickly and was all of top quality. We were very impressed with one of...the waiting staff when he took 10 dessert and coffee orders without writing down a single thing down and delivered everything without mistake.More
